hockey is boring, that being said Ill always support the state squad once they make the playoffs. explain the hurricanes to me like a 5 year old. whos the best player? who is the coach? will they have a chance at winning a series?

Best player is Sebastian Aho, but he's been pretty average the past month. Still, he's thought of as the best player. Had a breakout season this year. Rod Brind'Amour is the Coach, he was the Captain on the Stanley Cup team from 2006 (picture below). They have a chance, as everyone has a chance to win in the NHL Playoffs. An Eighth seed's goalie can get hot, and they can make the Stanley Cup Finals (see the Predators two years ago). Fun fact, in 2006, the Hurricanes were a 1 seed in the Stanley Cup Finals and went to 7 games vs the Wests 8th seed in the Edmenton Oilers. The first team to make the Finals of any Professional sport as an eighth seed since the 1999 New York Knicks.

What the hell  is this?

I don't  care what  time  of year  it  is--this  has  nothing to  do  with  the Panthers and this  is a Panther  forum.   Why is that concept  so difficult?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. Well, it's the offseason, which means that this can happen. Did you complain when there was 85 Mocks being created? Did you complain about the Mahomes arm strength vs Josh Allen thread? Bruh, get your priorities straight. This is the only Professional Carolina team that made the Playoffs the last year. Why is this concept so difficult? If you didn't like the Thread, don't come in the mother fuger. DUHHHHHHHHHH.

Panthers forum or not you would think that a savvy businessman like Jeremy would like to make his message board the premier Carolina sports message board.

Right now he has little to no competition when it comes to viewership and membership for Canes and Hornets fans outside of a few national boards that aren’t affiliated with anything Carolina.

If he wants to move the thread fine, but to bitch and complain about this state’s only team who is on the upswing and has a chance to be special is elementary.

You don’t like hockey, ignore it... simple as that.

But if you want to support a team who has had more national publicity (that should have been capitalized on by this website) in the last three months than the Panthers have had since they went to the Super Bowl then join the rest of us who actually want to see THEIR STATE’S team do well... regardless of the sport.

GO CANES!

This has to do with getting the team some exposure...because for once this year we have a sports team in the post season.  Some may not like it...but as the playoffs heat up...most will be happy its here.

    • been living in town since March of last year after spending 15+ years out on a farm in the middle of nowhere.  Snow was beautiful out there, but always meant a lot of work dealing with the long driveway and long dirt road out and onto paved roads that were the last in the county to get plowed. On normal days it always took 20 minutes to get anywhere. when it snowed...yeah. forget about it for a couple days. still had to go to work, so i'd have to drive on all these narrow and windy snow covered backroads after dealing with my driveway and putting up with the nasty red mud slush on the dirt road. if there was an emergency or some kind of urgent issue that required you having someone drive in or going out, it was just a major stressor.  anyways, i'm just looking forward to snow in the new house in town, where my driveway is really short and the roads are plowed. i want snow that requires no work or stress on me. most people probably love the idea of being snowed in out in the country. been there. done that. i'm looking forward to snow coming in town and being able to get out and about if i need. hopefully we have some this year.
    • I don't think it will be a complete stomping at all. That's not really the 2024 KC team. They have only scored 30 points once this season(shootout versus TB) and their biggest margin of victory has been 13(vs. the Saints). I guess they clearly show better versus the NFC South but not THAT good. Not by their recent years standard.
