EDGE is the pick

LTs are nice but is anyone really thinking if an EDGE player is available we aren’t going that route?  These dudes are the second most important position.  We probably reach if one is there too.  If we don’t pick an EDGE then no one decent is available.  Agree?  These EDGE players are getting huge deals.  Says something IMO.

Yep. I believe if sweat and or my boy clelin is there for us, we will pick one of those guys. I hope we go LT but my gut tells me that's where we will go.

I don’t disagree... the pass rushers are getting QB back money... no way we can afford a Lawrence type contract...have to draft one

I haven't gotten the obsession with a tackle at 16.  We did a great job shoring up the OL in FA, so now we should focus on the edge rush early in the draft.  Of course, BPA with needs still in mind, but an edge rusher to develop is still what we need at 16.

If Sweat/Clelin are not available who else is worth a shot at 16? We could very well go BPA. We wont reach for a need especially if that player is not a 1st round talent. We could find a DE in the 2nd round.

Second most important position? I would say that about LT. It is incredibly more challenging to find a top tier left tackle that will be your tackle for years to come than it is to find an edge rusher. Since Jordan Gross retired we have yet to find his replacement. In that same amount of time we have had plenty of good edge rushers.

I would take either, but I don't understand why so many of you are dismissive about LT and shouting edge rusher like crazy. I know it's a more flashy position but it's not more important than having a long term LT protecting your franchise QB. We released Kalil, William's can't play it and is coming off injury, and Moton has never played it. I don't get why you all are so sure that we are set there. Fixing the Oline was clearly our front office's #1 priority this offseason and I don't think they are done. They have yet to address LT in my opinion.

There is only one spot in our line I that has any certainty and that's at RG with Trai Turner. Every other spot could go in shambles once the season starts.

Moton a college LG and RT. Played well at RT. People are crowning him at LT from one start against a bad early season Cowboys.

Paradis despite his accolades was bought for cheap because of injuries

Ditto to Williams whose injuries affected his contract negotiations with teams

Van Roten is just serviceable.

Offensive Line is still just as much a priority as Defensive Line.

IDK what the pick will be but i think we can take OT first and still get help at DE...after the fiasco last yr and getting everyone hurt my main concern is pass protection and overall QB protection...I don't see Sweat or any of the glam picks their at 16...
