yeah lets act like Carroll's USC teams didn't produce any successful NFL defenders. Give me a break.

And plenty of busts. No such thing as a sure thing in the NFL draft. Plus, Carroll knew him better than anyone else in the NFL and he drafted Earl Thomas instead. Obviously a great decision in hindsight, but it was hotly debated at the time.

I agree there is no sure thing in the NFL draft, that applies to any program/conference though. Those USC teams at the time were as safe a bet as you're going to get. Obviously for Mays that wasn't the case though lol...

Those guys wern't nearly as gifted as the guys We were speaking on. Those guys were those he's a good guy and just has heart so were going to give them a shot players.

Just saying, in the end all we did was waste time on players that should have just been cut. The NFL is not a developmental league. Rosters are too small, injuries too common, and careers too short.

Sadly, Shaq didn't even test out all that well. All that LB/S tweener talk stopped after his combine. It became very clear he'd have to play LB in the NFL.

Yeah, drove me nuts we wasted a first round pick on a tweener. :(
