I knew as soon as Phoenix signed on to play Joker that it was going to not only be good but something different. He chooses his roles very carefully.

in the trailer when you see him put the smiley face in the middle of an “o” in his journal with the phrase “the worst part about having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don’t.” I got chills. This is going to be really fuged up. Like black swan/taxi driver fuged up.

Todd Phillips who co-wrote and directed said this is going to be a character study and will have themes involving class and mental illness. So I expect it to be more of a drama then an action type movie.

Looks fantastic, I think it's either going to be amazing or terrible though but I have high hopes.

Pretty much this.

So much potential here to build a more complex, meaningful yet scary and truly disturbed character without making him too sinister but at the same time hard to figure out.

But in the end, that takes a lot of work and focus to get it right so going with the above will be what they do, sadly.

Great choice of actor though, that'll save it into being worth waiting for it on prime.

I wasn’t as blown away by heath ledgers joker like it seemed the rest of the world was. Yes he played it well, and it’s a tragedy he died. 

I still like the Jack Nicholson joker the best...may be a generational thing, I dunno...

Seen it suggested that the little boy he gives a "smile" too is Bruce Wayne.
