If Hurney flew cross country, must be taking him serious

Im sure he is taking him serious as he is one of the more highly reguarded OTs according to some

He was also out there yesterday seeing the Washington kids.  So while he's in the area, might as well see Dillard

I still hope we dont draft him, as it will not ve a upgrade for next year.  Just taking on a big project

Just like teams fell in love with John Ross especially after the gym shorts at the combine.  The same will do for Dillard who is very similar.

Dillard is the best LT in this draft.

Yes he has flaws; poor senior bowl, run blocking, upper strength, etc

It's a passing league now, having ultra rare feet he's able to pass block with ease. It's much harder to teach pass block than run blocking.  In the NFL OL function as one, it's not 1 vs 1. Recent claim Dillion Gordon won plenty of 1 vs 1 during practice.

He's got rare traits and his flaws are coachable, best LT in this draft.

If Dillard is the pick I’m assuming our choices of DE Sweat and Burns are gone. Ferrell may still be there. But the potential is higher with Dillard. He doesn’t even have to start at LT his first season. Most likely Rivera would want To try Moton first. We either kick Dillard to RT or allow him to play LG. I’d imagine that scenario would be similar if Jonah Williams was our pick.

Everything I read about this guy is that he is a project, but it's looking more and more to me that he might be the pick at 16

How is he a 1st rd project? Makes no sense...haven't read anyone calling him a project

"I am not saying Little and Dillard aren’t going to be producing NFL starters, but they are destined to be drafted higher than they should. I wouldn’t expect immediate returns on either investment."

And I read one guy say he was 6th rd pick...the rest have him squarely in middle of 1st rd...most saying he would start pretty much  right away...the development is mainly run blocking techniques which most feel won't take long given his athleticism...so maybe we have different opinions on what a project means...I don't consider anyone taken in 1st rd a project.

Everyone, meet out 1st round pick

Time to start looking for the 2020 QBs

Kid has potential but isnt a impact guy this year and will need atleast a redshirt year.  But we arent the Bucs or one of the bottom dwealers,  we have only so much of a window left with Cam.

Now with Dillard, Lighting quick feet, length.  Thats about where it ends

People drooled about John Ross's speed like people drooling about Dillard and his feet.  Some suckers drafted him High and look at him now.

Just like "skill positions" OTs can benefit from that college air raid spread style as well, allowing their athletic ability to mask.

WSU runs all out air raid. 4-5 WR sets, empty backfields, 0-2 rushes a game etc.  Defenses have to cover that.  So they have to spread out as well.  It pretty much turns into a 7on7 style game.   Just like when we're down big and going 4-5 empty backfield sets, and teams are only rushing 3 to 4 guys, the OL tends to hold up well.  Heck even Kalil gave Cam a few seconds when only having to do that.  So Dillard never really saw anything complex.

Secondly to add to that.  On top of Only having to focus on his 1 DE, the talent he faced was staright trash.  You wont find 1 edge rusher he matched up with in college who will go in the top 3 rounds (maybe even 4)

Thus why the Senior bowl was so big for him.  To get out of that WSU offense.

And he Struggled big time.

Some people arent even reading what they are typing on here

"I dont want Daryl Williams back and he was over rated because he always had TE help".......

Then after Dillard got beat up at the Senior bowl and the coaches there didnt trust him without TE help.  "We need Dillard, he's elite.  Havnt had a OT like him since Gross etc etc"

The guy couldn't handle Ximines, Nelson, Omenihu, etc.  I sure as he11 dont want him protecting my QBs blindside vs Cam Jordan, Vic beasley, JPP, etc.   Thats how injured Cam happens.

This isnt 7 on 7, this is NFL football and he is faaaaar from ready to be a impact player
