Playcalling is an issue. But if Jake Delhomme can't make a pass on Second and 9 to make it 3rd and 4, then it's not the play calling. Delhomme always goes for first downs in the passing game on anydown and long unless it's a quick out to smith.

As much as I criticize our pass plays for always throwing SHORT OF THE FIRST DOWN MARKER when they need a first down, I know that's not true about going for first downs.

he puts us in 3rd and long when he doesn't settle for short on second down.

His first and second down throws are always long throws, he's trying way too much to make a play when he doesn't need to and that means he checks down when he SHOULDN't or a throws a pick. Sometimes even when it's third and short, he won't check down even if it'll yield a first down.

Philly game was a bad day for the oline. Our receivers gave up, our oline couldn't protect anything. And also, he didn't look bad at all. He threw a pick but that's in a pass only situation against constant EFFECTIVE blitzing. Whoever said that Matt Moore didn't look all that great seemed retarded anyway since they think he started the game.
