Pretty sure the Broncos defense won the second SB

And I’m pretty sure they won  it because of the panthers shitty offensive line and an equally shitty coordinator not adjusting after Atlanta showed the NFL how to beat the Panthers in early dec

You are a long time huddler. I’m sure you saw the same

RBs are one trick ponies. Cam is a dual threat QB who is predominately a passer who runs occasssionally. Once wear and tear starts to take a bigger effect on his ability to run effectively, I think we'll see more reliance on the passing. the run threat will still be there, but it will be more passing involved. he's going to get a lot more life than any RB.

Averaging 115 carries a year is not running occasionally. Having more rushing attempts than any other QB to have played the game is not running occasionally.

Cam has been hit more than any other QB since he came into the league, a good chunk of that is from rushing attempts, you have to take that into account when when contract talks come up.

After the 1st shoulder surgery it held up well in year 1, and went in the dumper year 2.

If it were my decision I'd make him play out his current deal (2 more years) before offering up another one.

Chances are no one knows for sure how Cam's shoulder is going to hold up over time, not the coaches, not the doctors, not even Cam.

Accepting this as reality, means that the Panthers would be wise to keep their eye out for a legitimate QB that can carry this team if Cam's shoulder gives out again.

Holding out on a new contract until the current one is coming to an end poses its own risks, especially if Cam has a full recovery.

Bottom line:  Panthers need to identify a legit QB as backup not a place holder.  Someone who can lead the Panthers to victory if required to do so.

The QB market has made even this basic task all the more challenging each year. There is no shortage of QB needy teams, and those teams get desperate. That's why even mediocre quarterbacks who are in fact little more than glorified backups are getting big money.

You can say let's draft one, but if he ends up starting and has even moderate success, guess who is going to be one of the most recent highest paid QB's ever? Even Jimmy G got well over 100 million off only a handful of starts. The Chiefs have to be sweating bullets thinking about paying Mahomes when the time comes.

All in all, I think Panthers fans just haven't really processed enough how good they have actually had it with Cam all things considered. Good f*cking luck just backing into another situation like that once Cam decides to call it a career. Odds are we're in for a bumpy ride based on the slumps other teams have had to endure.

Franchise QB's are hard to come by and Cam is a generational talent.  What will Ron and company do if Cam isn't there to pull off his last minute heroics?

The second half of last season should have been a wakeup call for the Panthers coaching staff and fans.  Norv certainly was talking like he didn't want to go through a similar situation in the future.

Do Ron and Norv believe "the answer" is already on the roster?  Who knows?  I'm certainly not convinced.  Panthers have lots of holes to fill before the season begins, so I could see them putting this issue on the back burner and taking their chances until next year's draft when prospects are better.

The Panthers had the #1 pick -- really wasn't any "backing into" anything going on.

3 winning records in 8 seasons....not a track record to brag about.

These alt accounts are so lazy now.

Wow, not even half way through his career yet either,..

i know guys like new shinny toys in the draft which is where this stuff comes from, but Cam is a leader, great locker room guy, gets it done. He’s also shown he has the work ethic to adapt and improvise as he goes.

now if he comes out and can’t throw more than 10 yards next year and goes down halfway again then we would have to look at shiny new toys.

the expectation is he plays lights out.

With Rivera, I think anything less than a winning season results in him getting his walking papers, injury excuses won't save him this go around. I know some of you have soured on Tepper, but I don't think he's given Ron as much leeway as you think.

On Cam, I just honestly don't see him making it through another coaching regime. This group is all in for a playoff push, or it's all getting torn down. It's a hard truth, but a reality nonetheless.
