I don't think we are going to be looking at a pool that is depleted at 16. Metcalf would be fine to pick if we were a team that had the ability snag a luxury pick. I don't think I would take him as BPA at 16 and certainly not as at a position of need. If it were a pick around the end of the 1st, I could see that.

Most likely. I am just saying my personal rating on him isn't very high. It's hard not to be intrigued by those measurables but the production doesn't match, the durability is an issue and he has some knocks on his hands, as well. 

I wouldn't take him at 16. Now, if that Panthers take him at 16? I am not going to be really upset with that. I will have the same concerns noted above but if we can polish him up, we are looking at top 5 WR in the league.

1 year over 5 td..

No rushing stats at all in 3 years..

Look, Ferrell is a good prospect but he does have some real limitations. I think the best quote I have read about him was "A high floor prospect with a low ceiling..." That is basically my take on him. I don't forsee him putting together many double digit sack seasons but he is a guy that can be a productive anchor as a 4-3 DE for many years. If he could be another Mike Rucker, I would be more than happy with that. 

But, one thing that can't be disputed is that a lot of these DE's ahead of Ferrell on most of the draft boards are there because they do possess some elite abilities, albeit without the polish that Ferrell has. The gamble is whether they develop the polish and motor that Ferrell already has. If so, it is highly likely a guy like Sweat will end up having a much more impactful career than Ferrell, especially rushing the passer.

In fairness, a lot of what I have read on Metcalf seems to be critical of the manner in which he(and their WR's in general) were utilized at Ole Miss. So, that does add a counterpoint to the lack of production critics. I am almost more worried about the injuries and being that big of a gym freak.

Can we really have a reality check here.. 

He didn't do all the underwear Olympic because of his toe .. So we really don't know what kind of athlete he is.. Let's not pigeonhole him while you're giving the best case scenario to others.. He can be a day 1 starter and a double digit sack guy like CJ was.. He might not be the 14 to 16 sack guy but he can definitely be a 10 to 13 sack guy who also stops the run better than anybody in this draft... Who doesn't take that in a heartbeat at 16??

Don't care.. The same thing was said about Stephen Hill.. 

So to be fair the only thing that got ppl drooling about this dude is how he looks and moves without Pads on.. Nothing he did on a actually football field .. That's a great draft pick there..

Bro...all of these guys are good football players which is why we are talking about them. It’s not me that says these things about Ferrell the rest of the world. I get it your a Clemson fan. But the fact is you don’t draft based on stats. There’s a lot more that goes into an evaluation than he had 12 sacks for two years.

Burst, technique, speed, strength,football iq all these things go into evaluations not just well he was good in college. If Aren’t a special athlete in a draft full of them why would I want you? I don’t want just a guy. I want a specimen that grow and develop. How’s much upside does a guy that Ian that athletic have?

Colt Brenen, Johnny manziel,all these guys looked great in college put up all time numbers... but athleticism caught up to them in a league full of athletic Guys. No one wants a average athelete. Not with a first round pick. Jared Allen in the 3rd sure. Not number 1.
