Fine isn't ever the goal for a first round pick. If your picking at 16, and you there are 22 people on offense and defense. you get the 4th best pass rusher in the draft then that isnt fine... you should be getting a top end best at position guy. at least number 2. were all the way down to almost 4. Your basically forcing a need. That can end badly.

Fine means it covers what you need it to cover... but put it this way he would be a good pick for us at 16...I said fine to temper the drama queen reaction from a chicken little...it means calm down and unwad your panties...fine means he would be a starter and worthy of the pick...

Chris Jones of the Chiefs.

What does that have to do with what were discussing? Your trying to say Ferrell is jones? One is 6'6 310 and the other is 6'4 265..... I guess a duck can be an ostrich if you add a few inches and put on an extra 100 pounds???

Watching that game is part of the reason why I don't think that highly of Williams. Ferrell had his way with him and people seem to be down on Ferrell and yet think Williams is a true NFL left tackle. I believe in the DL in this draft in the 1st, not the tackles. I think post 1st round, there are some tackles that are worth the risk to develop or you wouldn't feel bad about having them start their career at LG.

Thats the thing... I been seeing Jonah isnt a true tackle and could be kicked inside do to his short arms

I'm saying measurements don't tell the whole story and you don't necessarily have to be a freak of an athlete to be an impact pass rusher in the NFL. This isn't that difficult to comprehend.

you dont have to be... but the NFL prefers you are... Chris Jones wasnt a first round pick either.... nobody drafts regular guys or try hards just because in the first round.

We drafted Vernon Butler in the 1st. Go back and check out his workouts.

I hated the Butler pick as well. No one is saying just because your numbers are good that means you will be good. But these numbers are a bigger indicator on explosion, strength speed and so on things that are the foundation for dominating in the league. Just because you did well in college doesnt mean you will be successful in the NFL. If we went off production wouldnt Ferrell be ahead of bosa and surely the number 1 pick?

It's not one or the other, it's the whole picture. Too many draft nerds get completely hung up on workout numbers and forget about everything else. Projecting prospects to the next level is a very inexact at best "science". Ideally, you want a guy with good production, good measurables, and good workouts but those types of pass rushers rarely exist outside of the top 10. We'll see what we have tonwork with at #16.

I agree with 100% of what you said there.
