I did the Everette Brown thing early without much study. It was definitely wrong on my part. Still feel like a lot of his success is straight line speed. Obviously NFL tackles (You know other than ours) arent giving direct shots on the Qb. That being said Id gladly take him at 16 if Sweat n Ferrell are gone. Ill throw Gary in there as well. We will get one of them. It is possible that the perfect pick will be the last guy on the list and the Hurnia boys can tell us how great he is! Ill take any of those guys over a Lt that there is no consensus top 3. Grab a project in the 2nd or 3rd.

I think we are pretty much guaranteed that one of the top flight pass rushers in the draft are going to fall to us.  There are quite a few of them, and not everyone ahead of us will be picking D-Line.  I bet we even have our pick of 2 or 3 of the top guys.

I wouldn’t trade up...if there’s a run on edge rushers then someone like Oliver is going to fall. I don’t care where he lines up that guy can rush the QB. If he’s anywhere close to Aaron Donald I’d hand that card in immediately. Point being there’s too much talent to trade up. Our top 4 picks can inject this team with a lot of talent...don’t get cute

Guys cant keep saying player from so n so U will suck cause their from there. I remember a dude who came out of Rice U who happened to turn out decent. Never draft a receiver from Rice. They suck.

Well to be fair, there's generally a trend associated with those reputations, same as there is with schools being called "Linebacker U" and such.

The most common reason for negative reputations tends to be that a school's system or overall quality of program (Alabama, for example) makes certain players look better than they really are. This causes them to get taken with higher expectations than they actually deserve. Doesn't necessarily mean they're a bad player, mind you. Just means they're not as good as they were expected to be.

I agree that you don't want to be a slave to that kind of thinking, but realistically, you don't wanna ignore it either.

Sometimes there's a reason.

Agree 100%. This draft is deep in 4 spots we need help, DL, Edge, G and S. I don’t want to lose  our 2nd or 3 3rds when we can get a really solid guy at 16 and on day 2. Best part of the draft for people who enjoy following it is going to be pick 77-116. 3 picks for us in a span of 40. I can’t wait to see who’s left at pick 76 to figure out where we’re going.

Exactly...I know alot of folks act like if someone’s  taken past rds 1 and 2 there’s no way they’re contributing this year. Personally i think we can hold off addressing OG(possibly OT depth), Safety, and possibly a nickel with those 3 picks and have a good chance of them contributing this year. I’d go Dline /edge those first 2 picks unless an olineman  we’re  in love with falls to that 2nd pick in which case I’d still try to get another  dlineman in those next 3 picks.
