Moore, Samuel, Olsen (if healthy), Thomas (if not), and our number one target in CMC. That gives us at least 4 targets that would be more productive than Smith. That’s a hell of a lot to pay for a 5th option.

The problem is depending on Samuel. If we could expect him to be 100% then great. But we cannot and should not expect that.

Smith can be cut at any point. I don't know why that is so difficult for people to understand. Also there is nothing to say that he is 5th option just because it worked out that way last year.

Factoring in health and also Wright who I left off originally, I genuinely believe it would fall that way anyway.

While I agree, the aforementioned list doesn’t look solid if we sustain an injury but that’s assumed for most teams at most positions respectively. There are certainly bigger holes to fill with the money

Restructure Cam and Short gives $17 million,.. dropping Torrey and Searcy another $7 million, Shaq is $9 million(if we can still cut him for that?)

we have access to a lot if we need it but I think Hurney learned a little Gettlemen and will only do what is necessary without ruining next year.

It’s not difficult to understand. He’s more likely to be the 7th option in the passing game this year. But we eliminate any comp pick possibilities as a 5M insurance policy. For what? An aging declining, injured WR with the worst hands in the NFL.

I’m fine waiting until needed. But any discussion of paying him 5M this year is ridiculous. And many seem to think that’s a good idea? Should have never paid him last year.

Ruining next year? Do you mean losing the comp picks?

Just would like to remind everyone that they also had a plan when they drafted CMC, Samuel, DJ etc but it took late into the season for them to "figure out how to get them involved".

This has nothing to do with the topic.

Go easy on 'em, now.  It's difficult when you have too many good options.
