Reid gets first “random” drug test

At what point do we say enough is enough with this continued ignorance being hurled at Eric Reid here? He's under contract, and he isn't going anywhere. Either Igo and co draw a line in the sand on this, or the Panthers fanbase will eventually begin to move on from the huddle as a source of discussion. Pandering to buffoons will come at a cost sooner rather than later.

Who went on record saying he lied?

The NLFPA stated when they investigated the issue, they found the number of drugs tests did not line up with what Eric Reid claimed he had, and that the number was not high, or implied any targeting.

So while they didn't outright say he lied.  They merely said Reid stated the wrong numbers to the press about how many incidents he had.  All the while Reid continued to say that his numbers were correct.

So they didn't say he lied (since that implies intent).  Only that there was zero evidence to support Reid's claim, and the evidence available contradicted it.

It could just simply be Reid isn't a liar.  He just doesn't know how to count.

They never said he lied, they just don’t believe he’s being targeted and singled out. No one went on record saying he lied it was a “source” (of course). http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25720512/nfl-nflpa-say-eric-reid-not-targeted-drug-tests

A Mohammad can get “randomly” screened every single time by the TSA and they can still claim it was random.

They also said Eric Reid's numbers do not line up with the evidence.  From the exact article you linked:

Quote

The joint investigation found that Reid's claims about the number of times he had been tested since signing with the Panthers were not accurate, sources told ESPN.

Quote

Reid had told ESPN before the final game that the NFL and NFLPA came back with a different number of tests than what he deemed accurate.

Quote

"We take any claim questioning the integrity of our collective bargained performance-enhancing drug policy seriously," the joint statement said. "We will not breach any player's confidentiality but can confirm that the report documents the dates he was randomly selected for testing and the actual dates of the drug tests.

So the article, the one you linked..is saying that the evidence disagrees with Reid's claim of how many tests he had.  Reid states the investigation came back with a different number than what he personally deems accurate.  Yet the evidence backs the NFLPA investigation..and not Reid's claim.

So basically, every party is acknowledging that the evidence shown supports that Reid's number is high/inaccurate/wrong.  Even Reid does.  Reid is just saying the evidence is apparently wrong.

Ok.  And why should we believe Reid's claims over a joint NFLPA/NFL statement?

Like him for his beliefs or not he still showed his integrity was not for sale even if it almost ended up costing him his entire playing career. He never backed down, never lied in order to get signed by someone. He was straight with us as well. How many times have NFLPA and NFL been caught lying? Why do you trust them?

Wasn't his integrity shown to be for sale for under a reported 10m combined settlement?

If you fluff your random drug test numbers, doesn't that make your integrity for sale?

when the team loves him but you don't, he's not bad for team culture, you are.

What actions I take, the things I say, and the way I carry myself have absolutely no bearing on the panthers team culture. What are you talking about?

If the team likes him, and the coaches think he’s worth keeping around, and apparently that’s the case, then so be it, but for me personally, I don’t like the stories coming from him.

because you're letting a political agenda color the extremely limited information you have about the situation. the fact that you've let yourself form an opinion that's the direct opposite of what the coaches, team, and players have formed, yet you have about one millionth of the information about reid that they do, tells us and should tell you everything about your mindset.

BS I said NOTHING about political stances. You are letting your own bias cloud your opinion by assuming that.

and I’ve already alluded to the fact that I recognize that there are people much more familiar with him and his personality who are in charge of personnel decisions who ultimately decided he’s worth having.

Straight and simple, I just want the players to be team first and focus on improving their game, not making some political statements NOR making up conspiracy theories about the drug tests they agreed to take. I have no problem with politics and differing points of view. I think it’s healthy to discuss those differences in a open and respectful manner. That’s not what this is about.
