The catch-all Huddler Panthers mock draft thread (mods please sticky)

Here's my last official mock draft for the Panthers.

I made a lot of trades, and probably drafted way too many people, but I think it worked out really well for us.

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 18 (MINN): Cody Ford, OG/OT, Oklahoma (A-)
Round 2 Pick 20 (PITT): Chris Lindstrom, OG, Boston College (A)
Round 3 Pick 1 (ARI): Darnell Savage, FS, Maryland (A)
Round 3 Pick 7 (DEN): Oshane Ximines, DE, Old Dominion (A+)
Round 3 Pick 25 (IND): Germaine Pratt, OLB, NC State (A)
Round 4 Pick 1 (ARI): Andy Isabella, WR, Massachusetts (A+)
Round 4 Pick 32 (N.E.): Dru Samia, OG, Oklahoma (A)
Round 5 Pick 15 (WASH): Tyree Jackson, QB, Buffalo (A+)
Round 6 Pick 14: Albert Huggins, DT, Clemson (A+)
Round 6 Pick 17 (MINN): Travis Homer, RB, Miami (Fla.) (A+)
Round 6 Pick 24 (PHI): Jordan Brown, CB, South Dakota State (A+)
Round 6 Pick 41 (K.C.): Maxx Crosby, DE, E. Michigan (A+)
Round 7 Pick 2 (K.C.): Jazz Ferguson, WR, Northwestern State (A+)

I ended up with 3 OL (two from Oklahoma) - one immediate starter and at least competition for a starting spot inside.

Savage would come in and start at FS or Nickel.

The DE's I got are a tad underrated in my book. Both could come in and compete in the rotation right away.

I really like Pratt, and probably got him lower than he'll actually go. He's got the speed and coverage skills to remind us of TD.

Isabella will probably go earlier (to the Pats, I suspect) but if he is on the board at this point you have to take him. Ferguson will be a steal, and I'll be surprised if he is still on the board in the 7th. Immediate Funch replacement with better hands.

We can start grooming Tyree and see if we can mold him into the weapon he is capable of becoming. He's the perfect backup for Cam (his mechanics remind me a lot of Cam, tbqh.)

Homer is a baller, and would fit our system very well.

Huggins can add depth to begin with, bit I think he'll be a starter caliber player if he's coached well. He was behind a lot of good talent at Clemson, but does very well when given the opportunity.

Brown is a sleeper CB that I think will end up being a steal in the draft.

I checked all the boxes that I can think of, outside of maybe a TE and/or another CB.

Defense fixed.

Front 7 transition to the 3-4 complete

Athletic centerfielder at FS.

Depth at OL

Brian Burns fits what we are looking for to a T.

Here Burns vs Jawaan Taylor

Omenihu fits the 3-4 DE like a Glove.  He reminds me so much of Calias Campbell in Arizona under Arians 3-4 D where he thrived

Here is Omenihu on Andre Dillard

Also vs one of the top OGs in this class Michael Deiter

So been using this First Pick to have a little fun playing GM in my downtime at work.  This was the closest simulation of the First 15 I've found... So what to do...

Round 1 Pick 16: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson (A)
Round 2 Pick 15: Jeffery Simmons, DT, Miss. State (A)
Round 3 Pick 13: Darnell Savage, FS, Maryland (A+)
Round 3 Pick 36 (COMP): Beau Benzschawel, OG, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 4 Pick 13: Trey Pipkins, OT, Sioux Falls (C)
Round 5 Pick 16: Myles Gaskin, RB, Washington (A)
Round 6 Pick 14: Derrick Baity, CB, Kentucky (A)

First time trying this year... Every DE was gone ...still solidified both lines and the secondary. Pipkens in the 4th was a good pick.. he's projected 2-3. I wanted Bryce Love but he was gone ...Myles Gaskin would pair nicely with CMac IMO.

Love the second and third rounds----not sure if Ferrell is a good fit now---I see him as a 4-3 only end.  we shall see.

Savage lasting to 77 would be a dream come true for me.

1. Arizona: Kyler Murray- kingsbury Loves some Murray. And the new HC is going to get HIS QB

2. Raiders (via 49ers): Bosa- Arizona asking too rich for that #1 spot. We saw Lynch move back 1 spot in the 2017 draft. After grabing a edge in FA with Dee Ford, he'll move back 2 spots. Securing the raiders 4th and 2020 2nd. Raiders, no Question have a need at edge rusher.

3. Jets: Josh Allen- jets need a edge rusher and Allen fits what they need.

4. 49ers (via Raiders): Devin White- while most expect itd be Quinnen. The 49ers have a ton of highly invested picks and FA on that DL. And at the same time have been desperate to find a replacement for Patrick Willis. You saw them trade up into the first for Reuben Foster in 2017, but his off the field issues have led to his release. White is that same style thumper Willis was. Pairing him with newly acquired FA and former LSU LB Kwon Alexander, really strengthens that D.

5. Tampa: Quinnen Williams- Rumors of the Bucs moving on from McCoy, Williams is a Freak who can fit what Arians wants on D (played in a 3-4 in college and what Arians is transitioning too)

6. Giants: Montez Sweat- Big FREAK. Sweat fills a big hole at pass rusher that the Giants need. Gettleman Loves pass rushers.

7. Jax: Jawaan Taylor- no question here, they need help on the OL. Coughlin loves to run the ball. And Fournette, who has been frustrated there, has not been happy at all with the OL.

8. Detroit: TJ Hockenson- Matt Patricia saw Gronk in New England. Hockenson fit exactly what they want there. With his blocking And his pass catching

9. Denver: Drew Lock- Elway Loves him some Lock. Flacco isnt going to be the guy for more than 3 seasons. He'll have Lock sitting back and grooming for 3 years or so.

10. Buffalo: Ed Oliver- Bills cant run fast enough to the podium.

11. Bengals: Dwayne Haskins- new regime. new HC is a Sean Mcvay type, a young hotshot QB coach. The Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton duo got stale with the fan base. The new young coach gets his new QB from right down the road.

12. GreenBay: Jonah Williams- the packers tackled there weak D hard and heavy in FA. Rodger has been hit often and injured the last few seasons, while the rest of the NFC North has been stacking up pass rushers. Williams is a overall stud. Can be the future LT, can start at RT, and if needed can step in at OG.

13. Ravens (via Dolphins): DK Metcalf- Dolphins have made it super obvious they arr looking for a QB in the 2020 class. So adding capital to move up if needed is important to them. The Ravens really are looking for that #1 WR. They have always loved those freak speedy WR. Well Metcalf is that freak alright. Pairing him with the Andrews/Hurst TE combo, Lamar Jackson will have the Weapons.

14. Atlanta: Christian Wilkins- their top DL is on a tag. Wilkins can take his spot down the road or pair well with

15. Arizona (via Washington): Andre Dillard- thiiiiiiis is where the shocker happens. There has been a awful lot of report that the Redskins really like Rosen. Todd Mcshay said this week he is hearing it looks like it will happen and he is hearing it will be for the 15th pick. I think 15th will be a little too rich, so expecting something like Arizona's 3rd and Rosen for the #15 spot.
Arizona's OL was among the league worst last season. Kinsgbury is a AirRaid guy, so the Dillard pickup is a match made for them. As Dillard is a raw prospect who is known only for his pass blocking ability, and played in a AirRaid system in college (Kingsbury is a disciple of WSU HC Leach)

16. Carolina: Brian Burns

17. Giants: Daniel Jones- Giants WILL draft a QB at some point in Rd1. And a buddy of Eli's to sit under him is just what they want, keeping the Mannings happy

18. Tennessee: Rashan Gary- Titans wiffed on Kevin Dodd as a potential 3-4 DE prospect. Gary has the potential to be that guy for them.

19. Minnesota: Cody Ford- Vikings need help on the OL. Ford can plus in at either RT or OG. He is a Mauler, and with the Vikings saying they want to run the ball more. He is that Guy

20. Pittsburgh: Devin Bush- Steelers REALLY missed Shazier there in the MLB. Bush is another freak who can fill right in the hole Shazier left

21. Seattle: Clelin Ferrell- Seattle has needs at FS left by Thomas but the DL needs hell as well. Ferrell falling to here is a dream come true for Seahawks fans
22. Dolphins (via Ravens): Garrett Bradbury- Dolphins interior OL was terrible. If they are planning to draft a franchise QB in 2020, they are going to need to solidify the OL.

23. Houston: Byron Murphy- Houston doesn't feel Comfortable drafting any pf the remaining OTs here. And love the idea of bringing in Murphy in here to fill the hole at CB.

24. Raiders (Bears): Greedy Williams- Raiders feel estatic. Getting, what some have said, is the top CB in the draft to go along with Bosa

25. Eagles: Chauncey Gardner Johnson-Philly could really get some secondary help here, taking the top FS in the class.

26. Indy: N'Keal Harry- they grabbed Fucnchess in FA but thats not going to move to Needle. Harry is aa Big athletic target with Real good hands. Something Indy would like to pair with Ty Hilton

27. Raiders (dallas): Noah Fant- Raiders lost their TE in FA. So adding the athletic Fant to the mix with with AB is solid

28. Patriots: Irv Smith Jr- Patriots need help at TE after losing Gronk and Smith is a solid replacement plan

29. Chargers: Jeffrey Simmons- Chargers proved last year they that they arent scared of knee injuries with prospects. Simmons like James last year, was thought to be a top 10 pick prior to the knee injury. If Simmons recovers. That Defense is going to be something to watch put for in the AFC.

30. Rams: Dexter Lawerence- Rams looking to lose NT Suh. And the the Massive Lawerence is that guy.

31. KC: Amani Oruwarie- Big Athletic CB for a secondary that needs some help there

32. GB (saints): Hollywood Brown- they lose Randle Cobb but add a explosive play maker

33. Arizona: Erik McCoy- again, Arizona's OL was among the leagues worst last year and Murray isnt the biggest QB. McCoy and Dillard is someting Arizona fans seem thrilled with the idea of
34. Colts: Deandre Baker- Colts need help in the secondary and Baker brings it
35. Raiders: Josh Jacobs- you know this is going to happen. Jacobs is a 3 down RB that Chucky wants to add to that offense
36. 49ers: Jonathon Abram- people are comparing him to Neal in Atlanta, who Shanahan saw make a hige difference to the Atlanta D.
37. Giants: Hakeem Butler- this pick has Gettlemans name written all over it. They lost their #1 WR via trade so they get the tall Butler in round 2
38. Jaguars: AJ Brown- Brown is big and athletic for a team who needs a #1 WR
39. Bucs: Chris Lindstrom- Arians said he wants to build around Winston. That OL in Tampa has been Horrid, snd grabbing what most say is the top OG in this class is a steal
40. Bills: Dalton Risner- Risner can play all over the OL. He is a nasty blocker, someone Bills fans will love
41. Denver: Jerry Tillery- Tillery is a big freak DT who has been playing in a 3-4 at Notre Dame, will be a solid addition to Denver
42. Bengals: Mack Wilson
43. Lions: Rock Ya Sin
Greenbay gets a steal here

45. Atlanta: Trayvon Mullen- Falcons double up on Clemson products.

46. Washington: Chase Winovich- Redskins lost Smith to Greenbay leaving a hole at OLB. Winovich can slide right into that spot

47. Carolina: Juan Thornhill

48. Miami: Greg Little- Dolphins once drafted a OT from Ole Miss who was a cant miss prospect out of HS but some question marks. Dolphins continue to beef the OL. Tunsil can take Little under his wing and they can form a strong OT duo.

49. Cleveland: Justin Layne
50. Vikings: Kaleb McGary- Ford will come in and play LG with McGary at RT. For a struggling OL on a team who wants to run the ball
51. Titans: Jachai Polite- Titans take the risk here. He was projected as a 1st round lock guy until he tanked all of his workouts and interviews. If the Titans can get him back to where everyone projected. Theyll have a nice duo of young edge rushers.

52. Steelers: Julian Love- Steelers need CB help and they draft a good one

53. Eagles: Charles Omenihu- Big athletic DE who had a real good senior bowl.

54. Texans: Yodney Cajuste

55. Texans: Egleton Jenkins- back to back OL. Cajuste was Will Grier's blindside LT. Jenkins can play OG or Center

56. NE: LJ Collier- Patriots lost their top pass rusher. So grabbing pne in the draft is a must
57. Philly: Deebo Samuels- they were unable to resign Golden Tate. Eagles like the idea of the South Carolina duo of Deebo and Ashlon Jeffries

58. Dallas: Darnell Savage- they didnt get Earl Thomas like many people thought coming in. Savage is a stud FS in a deep Safety class

59. Colts: Dremont Jones

60. Chargers: David Edwards

61. KC: Darrell Henderson

62. Saints: Parris Campbell

63. Bucs (Via KC): Tytus Howard- Bucs ship Gerald McCoy to KC. And add a RT.

64. NE: Will Grier

I really think Dillard goes top 10 now. Think about it, why would Jags or Bills take Juwann Taylor when he is NOT a LT?  Teams only take LT's in the top 10.
