The catch-all Huddler Panthers mock draft thread (mods please sticky)

Do these mock simulators take into consideration the prospect's stock? I have yet to try one, but I've seen so many guys getting drafted 1 ,2 and 3 rounds later than they are projected by many well-respected draft experts.  Even in the first round, I see guys getting drafted at #16 that should in no way fall to us outside of pure luck.

Here’s one I just did, and I’ve done many on first pick.

i dropped back twice for extra 2nd and 3rd round picks, but only traded back 4 spots each time.

1st pick 20– Brian Burns DE/OLB

2nd pick 15– D’Andre Walker OLB/DE cheated on the first pick by choosing him as OLB ha

2nd(from trade back) — Parris Cambell WR — sorry that was too tempting. Imagine having that problem? Oh and Torrey would be gone.

3rd— 15th pick Amani Hooker— FS/SS can play both.

3rd— pick 33 from trade back— Chris Lindstrom OG oh yeh.

3rd— pick 36 comp— Will Grier QB— yep

4th— pick 13 JoeJuan Williams CB— one of my favorite.

5th— Ryan Bates OT Penn State— I have no clue— was BPA out of OT, DT and others I was looking for.

6th—Elijah Holyfield— RB oh yeh— pair someone with CMac please.

ive done many many drafts on first pick. My bias of course is to choose Jonah Williams if he makes it, maybe 1 out of 8 times he does, then Jawann Taylor— makes it even less. Sweat makes it 1 out of 10. Burns is almost always there, Ferrell 50% of the time.

I usually do trade back unless there is Sweat or Jonah or Jawaan. Ed Oliver made it once out of playing at least 50 times now.

2nd round I usually choose DAndre or Chase but have also taken Greg Little or Dalton Risner quite a few times.

3rd through 4th, I usually fill up CB, FS, OLB or SS although Riley Ridley is on my radar when there too.

I swear everytime I run the mock, Sweat and Burns are gone by the time we draft. OT Jawaan Taylor is also gone.

Onto my draft:

Screenshot_20190404-233953_DuckDuckGo.thumb.jpg.bbf71b79d84fbe649decb0a7af4af7bd.jpg

1) Ford over J Williams of Alabama. Ferrell does not meet our future direction. I say Ford brings our Oline to the next level. Our oline is more vulenrable than our dline. Why? Injuries DWill and Paradis that they are recently are overcoming. Van Roten and Larsen are not starting material but are top tier backups that can fill in when needed.

2) Savage solidifies our backend as the ballhawk we need. We have neglected safties for way too long. Gaulden goes to playing Nickle.

3) Wren has Chris Jones like potential and would be an excellent 5tech. I like Wren over Dre'mont Jones after looking at game film. No DE at this point will match Wren's instant help at this point.

Comp) Crosby, DE, brings great edge speed and has great potential.

4) Mack, NT, will be an excellent Poe backup. I believe Saunders will go to high as a NT. Saunders is slightly more nimble but if he is the next Poe then I prob say no because Poe is soft against the run.

5) Bobby Evans for OT depth. OU has given us DWill already and Ford early in my draft. OU linemen (as well the Ohio State University) somehow fit our team well and Evans can play LT or RT. If DWill goes down, Evans will be there.

6) Zaccheaus, WR/RB, is shorter but has decent weight. Zaccheaus is a lot like Curtis in that he is explosive and elusive. Zaccheaus can be a moving chess piece, return kicks and be a scat back.

My latest and probably last one until the actual draft:

I'd love it if things panned out this way, but I think some of these guys are graded out a little incorrectly on the site. If Scharping lasts until the 6th, I'll be extremely surprised, as he's moved up quite a bit on a lot of boards lately.

I do a mock every Sunday, here's the April 7th edition , draft is only about 2.5 weeks away!

Didn't see any decent edge rushers at 16 and didn't want to reach so I picked up Greedy. We could make Donte the nickle and play Greedy and Bradberry on the outside. I did pick up a couple of DEs in the mid rounds but unsure if they will be good.

McCoy is a plug and play at LG and insurance for Paradis if he goes down.

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 16: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU (B+)
Round 2 Pick 15: Erik McCoy, OG/C, Texas A&M (A)
Round 3 Pick 13: Darnell Savage, FS, Maryland (A+)
Round 3 Pick 36 (COMP): Jalen Jelks, DE, Oregon (A)
Round 4 Pick 13: Austin Bryant, DE, Clemson (A)
Round 5 Pick 16: Bobby Okereke, OLB/ILB, Stanford (A)
Round 6 Pick 14: Jalen Hurd, WR, Baylor (A+)

A very realistic mock.

    • I don't get the Hunter hate. Just imagine his ceiling if he stopped trying to be this 2way freak and focused on one side of the ball
    • 100%.  You have to play the cards that are dealt.  Not the cards you wish were dealt.
    • I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season.  We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including:  Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards.  Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also.  We need a physical option.    Which qualifies:  Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles.  Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds.  (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles.  If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.
