Everyone excited we signed Irvin but forget that falcons pick 1 or 2 spots before us. They’re definitely drafting a DE. No way Burns falls to us now...unless we jump them by giving up a 4th or 5th

It would take more than a 4th to move up.

So I when I first saw that it was a one year deal I was convinced that is a good sign we will go edge with our fist pick.  That way he has a year to develop behind Addison and Irvin.

but then

I can convince myself if RR and Hurney are in win now mode (job preservation) then they could draft someone like Ford, who possible could be a day one starter at guard, and that might help us more in the short term.

So who knows, it will probably be a position that none of us are expecting, like TE.

I will laugh when he does take a Tightend or something and all the guys here that keep on bashing each other about which DL or OL guy we will take unite—

all on the Hurney 2.0 haterade again. Of course until the DL or OL bust and his tightend is a pro bowler,.. genius then.

Back to Hurney 1.0.  Only take a RB or LB in the 1st.

Smokescreen

Does Hurney do a lot of smokescreen redirections before drafts? I cannot remember his history of predrafts.

I wouldn’t say a ton of smoke screaning.  But he isn’t as transparent as Gettleman.  Gettleman only drafted it seemed players that visited.

It's okay this draft is deep in pass rushers we will still get a good one..

Falcons still have Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley. It’s possible they do go DE in the 1st but I wouldn’t be shocked if the Falcons drafted Ed Oliver (if he’s there) or potentially a Right Tackle. 3rd DE (and potential Beasley replacement next year) is a need but it’s not 100% they go DE in the 1st. Some very good DE’s throughout this draft either way.

It funny that Riveras detractors criticize him for being a players coach and throwing players under the bus at the same time.

Rivera is a players coach in the sense he played the game too and from that standpoint players are going to respect him. He understands the game not only from a coaches perspective but from a players. I've never blamed Rivera for holding players accountable. Those are his strengths.

Since no one's perfect, his issue comes from not holding himself accountable. This is evident by his weaknesses staying the same, every year. He doesn't improve in these areas from a lack a personal accountability. When you start Amini over Norwell to protect Cam, or when you run out of time or timeouts then turn around and say it was an execution problem, you're basically just saying, it wasn't you which in turn guarantees it'll happen again. And it does.

Funny this article disputes every one of your claims and the interview was recent.

Signing Bruce didn't change that. The Falcons already had a need of pass rushers.  Stop dissing the signing.

You are a fool if you think Rivera isn't his own worst critic.

Fug, people are dumb.
