Everyone is trashing Elway right now but it's still possible Matt Paradis has an ankle problem that will hamper his future.

Was never a fan of Elway, ever since he refused to play for the Colts.

However, say what you will, he does have a Superbowl win as GM.

Something most GMs, including ours, can't say.

it helps when the refs are fans of and live nearby the team that you are GM for and your team is able to get away with murdering the other QB while your guys, including the old mule you've got for QB who can't throw for poo, are protected by the refs.

they've got an asterisk by their win that year.

Meh I’m not going to knock Elways just because we signed Paradis.

Injury in the legs is a legitimate concern for big men and I’m not going to be a douche and act like I’m not worried.

Elway fielded a team to beat one of the best teams of all time, the 15-1 Panthers. Not saying he’s a great GM but sure let’s do the whole but this but that bit because you guys are salty.

I hope he can bounce back and be a solid player because if he can’t the Panthers really need to evaluate their ability to find a quality oline without giving out worthless contracts.

Yep another real talk post that’ll get shitted from niaeve fans.

Also hired a Manning and a couple a refs in his back pocket for that tarnished Lombardi.

Likely won't ever watch that SB again, once was enough.

Yeah, lots of missed (intentional or otherwise) calls.  The helmet hits on Cam and swinging Philly around by his helmet readily come to mind.

Still, I mostly blame our own coaching staff and the utter lack of preparation for the biggest game of their careers.

Phillips agressive defense caught our coaching staff sleeping and they never provided a meaningful response.

Agreed.

Say what you will about Dan Henning, but back in 03 he saw what was happening and altered the entire game plan at halftime.

Shula? Not so much.

We have three key players on offense coming back after major injuries - Cam, Williams, and Paradis.  This is a bit of a risk and Larsen has looked good at center but I don't know that I'd want him as our starting center for the entire year.

That's the way I feel about Larsen.  But we still have him as a backup in case Paradis doesn't work out.
