It is something the Panthers have talked about doing though.

And after last year, I'd say it's probably a discussion worth having.

I'm sure the Panthers are considering taking a QB but I don't think that necessarily means it'll happen. I doubt we'd consider one prior to the 4th and I'm not sure a rookie QB taken in the 4th or later would beat out Allen.

I agree. Just whenever I would draft, the ones available always seem to be of less value than the other positions. I certainly wouldn't be mad if we drafted one in the later rounds.

I know--but next year's draft at QB is going to be loaded  compared to this one--but that should not impact a  mid to  late rounder.  That is good to know if Cam's shoulder is done--it means we will be drafting early during Cam's contract year.

Considering that Allen only had part of the playbook and has not been practicing with the WRs, I was happy with his performance.  We signed Heinke,  hopefully as the #3.   I think Allen could be as good as any other young backup QB.
