If I were Hurney, both Ferguson and Simmons are on my mind

We've already discussed Jeffery Simmons weeks ago, and some are just going to disagree on whether he should be on our draft board. Sure he may have went a little overboard with the repeated hitting of the woman attacking his sister, but...adrenaline...poo happens! That being said, his injury would give me more pause to pull the trigger on him during day two, but by day three, if not round three, it would be a wrap (in black and electric blue).

The other player that I would strongly consider in running up to the podium in the second round is Jaylon Ferguson. He has pretty much been a model citizen since his freshman year McDonald's altercation. If we somehow land, umm, let's say...Jonah Williams in the first, or even if we were lucky enough to land Sweat or Ferrell, I wouldn't be upset at all if Hurney would take Ferguson in the second.

Both these players have great potential to make an impact once they put on pro uniforms, and in.my opinion would be great value picks outside of day one.

Somebody is going to get a steal with Simmons.

I'm not sold on Ferguson but I don't think he is going to line up with our draft picks anyway.  I feel like 16 is too early, and 47 will be too late.

Ferguson from what all ive read, he's most suited as a traditional 4-3 DE.  And watching him at the senior bowl I see it.

Simmons was a beast but with him just tearing his ACL, id be nervous with picking him at 16

Run to the podium if Simmons is there in the 2nd, there’s your kk short replacement next year, don’t care if we’re in win now mode you don’t pass up a top 5 talent in the 2nd

That's what I'm thinking. If you can't win simply because you used a second round pick on a first round talent that had to be "red shirted" his rookie year, then you're likely done anyway. It can show an owner that you are still thinking about the long term health of the franchise by making the "smart" move despite the potentiality of being canned, and that may just compel them to give you another chance.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
