Jainists have been around since the 6th Century BC and there are between four and five million adherents to this religion which requires vegetarianism, and many of the devout are extremely vegan, even avoiding root vegetables because of the harm it can cause lower organisms during the harvest.  Just sayin'.

Cam will be fine. HoF TE and all around good guy Tony Gonzalez was a vegetarian throughout his playing days and continues an 80/20 diet now.

I don’t argue against vegetarians especially of the Indian variety. There is historical precedence for it working. These are your classic vegetarians incorporate animal products such as cow products. Cows being the most revered in India. They eat and cook with ghee, drink milk and eat cheese. I’m okay with that. Cams old diet of pescetarianism has historical precedence. Veganism does not except for fasting purposes and strict religious practices. It is an unknown. I don’t doubt the short term benefits that many vegans are experiencing. But I think people should also note the former vegans who are coming out and experience deleterious effects on long term veganism. This diet needs to be studied further.

lol lots of bad opinions, statistics, and misinformation in this thread about being vegan...

I'm not, but I don't eat much red meat.

I have vegan friends who have been that way for 25+ years. It isn't difficult, and it isn't unhealthy. It is actually the opposite.

For most people who choose it and stick with it, it is more of a moral choice IMHO. But the health benefits can't really be discounted.

Also, that second point is a theory, far from proven. Most paleontologist believe the larger brain came from people doing more advanced things like developing social societies.

That's an extremely complicated subject.  The science is obviously far from settled but there's large correlations with human brain size and the consumption of meat.  Funny enough there's also evidence of human brain shrinking since the agricultural revolution 10k years ago and only 'recovering' in the past 100 years or so.  I think it's a bold statement to say most paleontologists believe that.

I personally think meat consumption is an important part of diet overall but that being said, going vegan will definitely help Cam in his recovery.  The inflammation aspect of it is  super important.

Carnivores vs. Herbivores: the new Gettleman vs. Hurney.

I just see it as an extension of social media culture in general these days. You're not truly committed if you're not extreme. Are you "liberal" or "conservative"? Are you carnivore or vegan? Are you capitalist or socialist? OMG! FUG YOU IF YOU DON'T PICK A SIDE!!! ARE YOU WITH US OR AGAINST US??!!!

Whatever happened to the moderates (a.k.a. "sanity")???

As an aside , I've decided to bulk up a bit this year. Putting up heavy weight and putting on muscle. I'm up to 200lbs now, gained 15. Just extra rice and beans. Not difficult.

I like to jack some steel as well but I would rather eat a nice 1/2 roasted chicken with a little rosemary & garlic butter VS pounding endless rice and beans.

Yea that can happen.

That's why no matter what diet getting reg blood work and check ups are your friend.

Its great though that you were able to reverse you symptoms with diet, I think more people should experiment with that if they are having serious health issues

One of the best benefits I saw in being a Panther fan was it brought many different groups together. A big one being the Duke vs UNC and Northern transplants and Southern generations. Those days seem long gone now. I've fastly grown sick of the constant divided, I'm on neither side cause both at times are wrong.
