Really weird how y’all don’t hold the 100% success standard y’all require(d) of DG to your precious Hurndog.

How do you think your Marty would hold up to a 100% standard of success?

This post doesn't answer my questions.

Kind of my point...

I have no problem arguing Gettle could possibly be too cautious, too cheap about his moves.

He cut OBJ, Smith, Norman and Collins like nothing, actual productive players.

But he signs Ryan's brother here to a outlandish contract for an olineman coming off injury who hasn't done anything? (all around the same time olsen and TD whine about an extension that got granted?)

Call me paranoid but I find it suspicious.

Strong points, just saying it’s not as clear cut as I thought It was originally after comparing his current job in ny and when he was here

I agree that’s a big contract. But you’re talking for a guy opposite of Matt Kalil. A guy who does not miss games. He missed very very few due to some arm injury and cancer yet he came back and even then started every single game including playoff games, a lot of them.

Plays on the borderline of elite but not quite. Fact is he is one of the most durable LTs in the game.

Kalil had nothing of relevance when he was signed except his brother played here.

Solder had a very mediocre year last year.  Esp for the money Gettleman threw at him.

Hurney has made several epic mistakes in the past. He didn't get a free pass for those mistakes on this forum. Lately Hurney has been doing well, and so he is being praised by some fans. Let him make a major blunder and he'll be blitzed on here.

For those of you who are peddling this baseless speculation that JR forced Gettleman’s hand on the Kalil signing:

do you guys also think, or at least entertain as a possibility, that Hurney was forced by JR to extend all of our fan favorites to gigantic overpaid contracts, in turn ruining our cap? Not sure how you can believe one over the other in good faith. Is it that JR suddenly now decided to start meddling in team affairs? Or is it that Gettleman caved to the pressures of JR and Hurney rejected him and did his own thing?
