And what evidence do you have?

Daryl Williams

Trai Turner

Taylor Moton

Andrew Norwell

Michael Oher

And, to a lesser extent, Mike Remners (who was at minimun a competent OT for Carolina)

There isn’t a long list of OL that Gettleman signed that got a decent amount of playing time that were BAD. I only have one name:

Matt Kalil

A bit of a weird outlier, I think.

Fair enough, but the Odell situation, Collins and solder contract look similar to the Norman situation, Smith, and kalil contract

Kind of my point...

I have no problem arguing Gettle could possibly be too cautious, too cheap about his moves.

He cut OBJ, Smith, Norman and Collins like nothing, actual productive players.

But he signs Ryan's brother here to a outlandish contract for an olineman coming off injury who hasn't done anything? (all around the same time olsen and TD whine about an extension that got granted?)

Call me paranoid but I find it suspicious.

What a stupid post. You listed 4 rookies, a career backup, and Oher.

This leads you to the conclusion that JR was responsible for Kalil? Oher, Remmers, Kalil. Yeesh.

Yeah, 4 rookies that Gettleman drafted that are now starting OL in the NFL, most with Pro Bowl’s and All Pro’s under their belts.

And 2 bargain basement OTs signed by Gettleman that played well (Remmers) to very well (Oher) and helped us to a Super Bowl season.

How is that, excepting for those who love to nurse their irrational hatred for David Gettleman, in any way “stupid”?

”I don’t like it” =/= “stupid”

OT Nate Solder - 4 year, 62 million

I agree that’s a big contract. But you’re talking for a guy opposite of Matt Kalil. A guy who does not miss games. He missed very very few due to some arm injury and cancer yet he came back and even then started every single game including playoff games, a lot of them.

Plays on the borderline of elite but not quite. Fact is he is one of the most durable LTs in the game.

Kalil had nothing of relevance when he was signed except his brother played here.

You seem to have a problem with your reading comprehension.

I said it was a WEIRD OUTLIER.  You need for me to provide definitions for you to help you understand?

And I see you conveniently left out many of the names I listed (you know, the OL that DG drafted or signed as UDFA) since they were inconvenient TO YOU.

Did JR keep Gettleman hostage until he signed free agen bust Nate Solder too?

Kalil is a former pro bowler. Gettleman most likely believed a change of scenery and schemes would help.

You were responding to a conversation about if JR was responsible for Kalil. What do you think? I listed OTs. You seem to be an angry guy.

Really weird how y’all don’t hold the 100% success standard y’all require(d) of DG to your precious Hurndog.

How do you think your Marty would hold up to a 100% standard of success?
