It doesn't matter whether Matt Moore is better than Jake Delhomme. The point is that enough is enough and that there are REQUIREMENTS to keeping a starting QB job in the NFL. There are standards that have to be upheld in order to be a starting QB in this league. 13 INT's in six games is unacceptable. A switch to a new QB, better or not, at least shows that the front office aren't oblivious to what is going on. And the truth is that we do not know if Matt Moore is any better than Delhomme or not, but it's about damn time we found out.

that makes no sense.

So you want the front office to show they are paying attention even if they know it will get worse-

Are you a raiders fan?

Not at all. I think this is just the WRONG time to bench him giving the circumstances of Sundays game.

Arizona is the team that started it all.

So if all of this is just in Delhommes head, then here is his chance to get it right, and get out of the funk.

Its the perfect scenario.

If he sucks and cant get the monkey off his back then let Moore go play and lets see what he has.

But dont yank Delhomme when this might be just what he needs.

(honestly- whats our chances of winning with Moore starting? 25%)

you think jake delhomme has a better chance of winning? Did you watch the game yesterday? We played the Fuking bills...they are garbage compared to the Arizona Defense!! It is sad when you have to eat crow to a bunch of moronic bills fans because your QB throws 50 ft over receivers heads. With Jake in the lineup starting next week I give it a .17 chance of winning.

We still can make the playoffs but not with Jake ATM. Putting Moore could be the sparkplug we need. But going with Jake will just being throwing the season away.

Jake starting 0% of winning

Moore starting 45% Have to remember not much film on Moore.

AK, you are a great fan and all that, but you are seriously being a homer at this point. It's not a Monday knee-jerk reaction, Jake has been really inconsistant for years, topping it off with HORRIBLE this season.

The point people are trying to make is, we have nothing to lose. If we start Moore, and he continues to not be effective, at least we KNOW.

I don't see us making playoffs. We won't catch the Saints (maybe no one will) and we aren't going to do better than the Falcons. Green Bay will also be in wild card running. We've lost a lot of NFC games already. We have no first round pick either.

The only thing at this point that could save this season is to figure out anwsers to some of the QB questions. If we continue to start Jake in a season that's pretty much lost we won't be figuring out anything. If Moore comes in and handles himself we can focus on other things next year (regardless of who the coach is etc).

Moore was what, 2-1 in the games he started? You can't even count the times the guy has been thrown in there after we're losing.

However, if we won't start Moore, or Cantwell there's no point in starting someone like Feeley. I don't want a traveling backup starting for us.

I feel just as bad about it as you guys. But I think the timing is very wrong. I dont this this is the right time.

After Arizona, then sure. But I think this is mental, I think Delhomme needs to play the Cardinals to get out of this funk.

I can see it now. Delhomme goes out and reenacts his performance against Arizona last year, and you'll be on here recommending he start just one more game. After all, he was just so flustered from facing the team that "started it all."

How long do we keep doing this? How long do we give Jake to get back to his old form?

Thinking Jake is going to shake off the stink of seven games (okay six, he played decently against Atlanta) and come back to beat the very team that exposed him is the stuff of Hollywood screenplays. Right now, we have absolutely nothing to indicate Jake is capable of this.

Why do you think we stand only a 25% chance with Moore starting? He won 2 out of three games against playoff teams in 2007, a year in which our ground game and defense were not nearly as effective as they are now.

If we drop the next 3 games if Moore starts and it's 100% his fault we lost, then we have AJ Feeley. That said, never has a QB ever been responsible for putting his team into bad position time and time again. Jake Delhomme has average OVER 2 INTERCEPTIONS PER GAME. He has NOT gone a game without an INT. If you think Moore will come in and light it up, you're horribly mistaken. We don't need Moore to Light it up, we just need him to make a pass and keep the defense honest. That's ALL. That's what Jake is incapable of. He lacks the ability to take advantage of defenses. His horrible overthrows on 3rd and long and his drive ending interceptions that put the DEFENSE in bad position continually cause us to falter. Starters are expected to contribute to the team in order to win, but week in and week out he as proven that he is contributing to the other team. You think that we're all pissed about 1 performance. No. One performance can be forgotten. This guy has played at a VERY LOW level since Arizona last year. If you count preseason that makes. 1(arizona) + 4(preseason) + 6(regular season 2009) where he has shown an inability to get things done. If we don't count preseason, he has thrown 18 Interceptions with countless fumbles lost in the other side of the field.

When you think of the ultimate standard of capable starting qbs you expect around 12 TDs to 12 INT. You give them that. that's good enough to win. Sometimes you get QBs trying to get into a groove and may even be around 10 TD to 12 INT, it's ok. It's understandable. But 4 TDs to 13 INT..at Week motherf**king 7? Are you f**king shitting me? I don't care what coverage they're playing on Smith, you find open receivers and give them the ball. Jake tries this, but then he ends up doing what he does to smith. Throwing the ball high where only Smith can jump up and fight for the ball. THIS DOESN'T WORK FOR PLAYERS NOT NAMED SMITTY. AND IT CERTAINLY ISN'T WORKING THIS YEAR FOR PLAYERS THAT ARE NAMED SMITTY.

So, before you take your misguided judgment on us, saying we're just pissy cuz we lost. This hate isn't about one game. This is about every god damn game this season

Last of all, You wanted Trgo fired for several years, constantly ragging on him even when he put up respectable defenses. Jake Delhomme is hardly respectable and you don't appreciate people ragging on him? f**k you.

honestly AK it is more than just a funk from last year. He is not the QB he once was, his accuracy is off horribly and one game against a good defense who destroyed him last year is not going to magically give him his accuracy back.

(it is not like he had much accuracy to begin with)

Which of the interceptions yesterday seemed like mental mistakes, rather than just poor throws?

At this point I think the fans are asking to see Moore just so we can see what we have. Is Moore the future or not?, we need him to play to find out so we know if we need immediant qb help in the offseason. maybe we can get by with Moore and he be our guy or hold us over for a year until we do have a 1st round pick in 2011 or we find out hes terrible and we've gotta draft or trade for a qb right away. he could very well get in there and stink it up but lets atleast find out and move on accordingly.

Come on AKPantherfan, this isn't some Hollywood story about a QB who was mentally disturbed by a team and is awaiting his valiant return once they meet again. This is a business, it's the NFL, if you can't win then you're out. Plain and simple. This whole 'he needs to face AZ again to redeem himself' is rediculous.

you ever played a BB game and just been "on" where you didnt miss a shot?

Then you ever play a game where you couldnt hit the shot to save your life?

I think "tHATS the mental funk he is in.

I think he just needs to re-gain his focus.

Wether he does it on the sideline or in between the hashes i hope he re-finds it.
