I would say that we are in rebuilding mode regardless.

Hopefully we will have a new HC and QB next year. Now is the time to figure out of Moore is worth consideration for the latter. If not then we know that we need to get some new blood.

Either way we need a QB that doesn't lose games. "Rebuilding" would go MUCH faster if we can just find someone that can just avoid spotting the other team 7-14 pts a game every week. We don't need Matt Ryan or Peyton Manning to be successful and if Moore can do that then put him in!

thats the type of poo the raiders, redskins, and rams do

we dont suck that bad

Actually we do suck that bad. We have the most inefficient quarterback in the NFL. Meaning the absolute worst. So if we plan on turning it around we have to put him out. If Moore starts turning the ball over and missing wide open receivers I will ask for his head too. It's a brutal position but that's why these guys make more money than everyone on this board put together. He will never be the old Jake and thats fine. He did his part in our history but its time for a new guy and Im tired of watching him fail.

Before Jake signed with the Panthers, he had a total of two career starts. In those two starts, he went 1-1 with 3 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. His quarterback ratings were 103.6 and 39.6.

When Matt Moore started three games with the Panthers in 2007, he went 2-1 with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. His quarterback ratings for the three games were: 92.8, 70.8, 94.8.

There is more reason to believe that Matt Moore can get the job done on Sunday than there was when Jake Delhomme was signed here in 2003.

are you going to be saying all this if jake starts and he throws 3 more int's? or is this going to be going on for 17 full weeks?

Not at all. I think this is just the WRONG time to bench him giving the circumstances of Sundays game.

Arizona is the team that started it all.

So if all of this is just in Delhommes head, then here is his chance to get it right, and get out of the funk.

Its the perfect scenario.

If he sucks and cant get the monkey off his back then let Moore go play and lets see what he has.

But dont yank Delhomme when this might be just what he needs.

(honestly- whats our chances of winning with Moore starting? 25%)

I just dont see how Matt Moore is better than Jake

It doesn't matter whether Matt Moore is better than Jake Delhomme. The point is that enough is enough and that there are REQUIREMENTS to keeping a starting QB job in the NFL. There are standards that have to be upheld in order to be a starting QB in this league. 13 INT's in six games is unacceptable. A switch to a new QB, better or not, at least shows that the front office aren't oblivious to what is going on. And the truth is that we do not know if Matt Moore is any better than Delhomme or not, but it's about damn time we found out.

you guys are just talking out your pissed off monday morning QB butts

AK, you are a great fan and all that, but you are seriously being a homer at this point. It's not a Monday knee-jerk reaction, Jake has been really inconsistant for years, topping it off with HORRIBLE this season.

The point people are trying to make is, we have nothing to lose. If we start Moore, and he continues to not be effective, at least we KNOW.

I don't see us making playoffs. We won't catch the Saints (maybe no one will) and we aren't going to do better than the Falcons. Green Bay will also be in wild card running. We've lost a lot of NFC games already. We have no first round pick either.

The only thing at this point that could save this season is to figure out anwsers to some of the QB questions. If we continue to start Jake in a season that's pretty much lost we won't be figuring out anything. If Moore comes in and handles himself we can focus on other things next year (regardless of who the coach is etc).

Moore was what, 2-1 in the games he started? You can't even count the times the guy has been thrown in there after we're losing.

However, if we won't start Moore, or Cantwell there's no point in starting someone like Feeley. I don't want a traveling backup starting for us.
