So, is Moton LT now?

Don’t really see what else we would do. He looked great there in his brief time and seems to fit there better than Williams would, and Williams was elite on the right side in 2017. Either way it’s 100% clear that Kalil won’t be starting. He may still be kept because we don’t save much to cut him and he’s not bad depth, although I’d prefer we just cut ties now and move on.

OL is looking like a serious position of strength now:

LT Moton

LG Van Roten/Larsen/Mahon

C Paradis

RG Turner

RT Williams

LG is the only weak link and even those three aren’t terrible, closer to average. Has Cam had a better OL on paper heading into a season ever? If his shoulder holds up the potential of this offense is unbelievable.

this is exactly what i wanted was shoring up the oline. i think we draft a guard in third van roten not a given

I wonder if Hurney is working the phones to try to trade Kalil before Friday? If so, I'm sure he's getting a lot of these responses

I mean, I'd try.

Not like anybody foresaw the Colts paying 13 million for Funchess, right?

Who do we have if William's gets hurt again?

I still think we're drafting an OT. Probably in the first three rounds. After doing a little reading up on his specific injury, it seems like the risk of re-injury is very significant. Sucks it happened to him in a contract year.

Knee injuries to linemen are never good.

"knee injury" is pretty vague though. There's a wide variety of them. This one definitely seems a little tricky, made trickier to evaluate by the fact that it's not one of the more common one seen in football.

Here is the rub...

If Moton plays LT and looks great, WTF?  Why not put him there last year and bring in a street RT?  That suggests our coaches are idiots and it could have been a big part of what cost Cam  a shoulder surgery.

If he can't play LT, at least we know he can play RT. So for now, we have 2 RTs and they are going to to let the best of the two play LT....That suggests our coaches are idiots.  You don't secure RT and then put the "Best of the rest." at LT.

Since there is no real long term plan at T, I think we grab a LT in the draft.  This is NOT a good year to be drafting a LT---to me, Ford is the best pick because if he fails at T, he  would be a helluva LG.  Williams on a 1-year deal and I think Moton and Williams would be looking for a big contract at the same time.  Are we going to go from paying $7m for our tackles to $25-30m?  Yikes.  I believe Bradberry will be up for a deal too.

Newton's scar tissue is an effect because of his previous surgery not who played tackle. It came from a run in a game two seasons ago.

Also we had the 9th fewest QB hits last season so that wasn't the glaring issue peiple who dint pay attention want to make it in to.
