There is literally nothing wrong with this deal. Nothing.  Anyone who says otherwise just has an ax to grind.  If he tears his ACL in training camp, it was and is still the right move.

There is a  possible downside there; if we plan on he and Moton being bookends and Williams gets hurt, that'll sting us a little.

I'd still hope we get insurance just in case Williams does get hurt.

If anyone we plan on relying on gets injured it is going to sting.  What if Moton gets hurt.  It will sting.

Couldn't a rookie LT do better than Matt Kalil anyhow?

That is far from guaranteed.

Outside of the elites, rookie tackle play hasn't been all that great the last two years. And even some of the top ones have turned into busts.

This guy hates DJ Moore. His takes are irrelevant

He trolls about DJ Moore more than anything. I'm higher on DJ Moore than he is though lmao.

But that isn't a thread of his takes. It's literally a clip of every snap on that final drive. So his input has nothing to do with it. Just watch Williams yourself if you want.

Ah,  I see, he is overrated because he struggled a bit on the road in the loudest stadium in the league against a Pro-bowl defensive end. Yeah totally not worth 6 mil. /s

Also, they put him on that side so cam HAS to roll to his left.

Moton mans the right side and keeps it elite. Idk if Williams coming back from injury will be good, nor do I know a guy who's played RT his whole career basically can up and out play LT immediately right out the gates.

I think reward outweighs the risk. What if Moton is great at LT and Williams returns to all pro form?

Of course Williams could get hurt again but I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing Clark back to back up. He played pretty admirably for his skills.

This is wayyyy more risky and way less likely to help, especially for the next season.  Also, we can still draft a tackle.

You are making a huge assumption that drafting a tackle is less risky than relying on someone who got injured.

There's no assumption there, it's simple, if you can't stay on the field how are you helping?

It's way less risky to draft a OT to develop, and backup oft injured OT, I mean since we've already signed D Will. And if he ends up being better, great. Insurance is key though, instead of signing OT off the couch, mid season.

Bring up the Bills game. Rough stint for him.

Matter of fact, really just evaluate his one-on-one snaps where Dickson isn't giving him help. Because Norv's scheme has significantly less TE help than Shula's did.

The Panthers are re-signingtackle Daryl Williams to a prove it one-year deal, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. A league source told ESPN.com the deal is worth $6 million. Whether that impacts keeping left tackle Matt Kalil remains to be seen. There was speculation Taylor Moton could be moved to the left side and Williams resume his spot at right where he was before injuries last season.

Last play is fugged on so many levels.

Game clock at :01 so Cam can’t slide protection and get blitz pickup.  Probably because of stupid long nomenclature (head azz Rivera).

Even if he did slide protection DW got swam hard.
