Problem is, Williams has a history of injury, what happens if he gets hurt again? Moton slides to RT and who's left for LT? Kalil? What happens if Moton is not great at LT but best at RT? Considering above average OL is not plentiful, better get it while you can, and cheap too.

If you look at the top OL prospects, a majority are pretty versatile having played mult positions along the O line. Draft an OT, start at one of the G spots, and already have backups in Larsen and Van Roten.

No one sees this point at all on this site. I just don't understand how putting Williams at RT is far more a risk than keeping that right side elite with Moton and just drafting a LT instead instead of creating a situation of unknowns with hoping Williams is healthy coming back on the RT spot and Moton can play LT. Two potential areas of risk vs one.

Any guy who gets second team All-Pro has to be elite after all. Just like anyone who's been a pro-bowler *cough* Matt Kalil *cough* has to have been elite too.

Oh wait.

I just think that bringing back Daryl Williams is counter-productive when you already have a solid - borderline elite - guy in Taylor Moton on a rookie deal manning the right side and keeping it elite.

Because I don't know if he can easily switch to LT and make that elite, while Daryl Williams comes back healthy and actually plays like an All-Pro.

Maybe I'm seeing this wrong?

The way I look at it is that it actually gives us the option to give Moton a legit, extended look at LT.

Elite LT play would be awesome, but you act like we actually have that. We haven't had that since Jordan Gross and even Gross was borderline elite. Just give me competent LT play. We went to 15-1 and had the best offense in football the last time we had competent LT play. Kalil is trash and he carries a huge cap hit.

Bro, I'm not the biggest Hurney fan, but paying 6 million for a starting tackle 2 years removed from an All-pro nod is bonkers good. Even if it is for a year.

Is agree, if he stays healthy.

"Prove it" years are best when they actually do prove it.

This is wayyyy more risky and way less likely to help, especially for the next season.  Also, we can still draft a tackle.

You are making a huge assumption that drafting a tackle is less risky than relying on someone who got injured.

Everyone keeps saying "just draft a LT" like that's an easy thing to do. Elite LT prospects have been busting far more often than not on recent years. I very seriously doubt that there's anyone in this draft class who would be better as a rookie at LT than Moton would be this coming season.
