Draft Network mocks

not sure it makes sense for us to get interior Oline in R1 after signing paradis and having Trai Turner at RG. We prob have someone serviceable on the roster to play LG like Van Routen or Larsen. Its being projected for quite a while now that theres going to be a lot of interior guys hanging around in rounds 2-4.

I wouldn't like getting a DT in the 1st round since we already have so much cap tied up into Short and Poe and with V.Butler being a bust im very leery. Could be a good move but I would be pretty pissed if this DT ended up being anything less than Aaron Donald . We need pass rushers terribly bad, Id rather take best DE available.

Agree. Did that one last week before Paradis. Just thinking top edge guys may be gone and BPA could be OL or LB

I like this site thanks for sharing!

I definitely wish I went DE earlier in this one, but this is who I got.

1. Jonah Williams - OT Alabama

2.  Noah Fant - TE Iowa

3. Rock Ya Sin - CB Temple

3. Joe Jackson - Edge Miami

4. Porter Gustin - Edge USC

5. Myles Gaskin - RB Washington

6. Marvell Tell - S USC

100: Khalen Saunders, IDL ---- Khalen Saunders, IDL

154: Hunter Renfrow, WR --- Trayveon Williams, RB

187: Clayton Thorson, QB ---- Jarrett Stidham, QB

I find this to be more realistic than most simulators but I did find what I consider to be my best draft on this site.

16. Jonah Williams OT -- This would be my #1 pick unless Gary, Sweat, Oliver are there. I still don't know if I like him more than Burns. They are close.

47. Dexter Lawrence IDL --- Feel like he would be a great Poe replacement and can play either 4-3 or 3-4

77. Deionte Thompson S --- A little redundant to Reid but high potential and he fell

100. Trysten Hill IDL --- I fell for this guy at the combine. I think he would be a great 3-4 End or backup to Short in 4-3

115. Damien Harris RB --- Physical runner and a good complement to CMC

154. Anthony Johnson WR --- Our Funchess replacement. Good size. Didn't have a good combine so he dropped

187. Clayton Thorson QB --- No clue who he is but wanted a QB and know that the Panthers checked him out at his pro day

Ok, so that was actually really fun to go through so many different scenarios with the drafts. Lots of spots where I couldn't decide who I wanted to take, if the guy who was graded lower would be there at the next pick, etc. I definitely appreciate how complex the draft is now from that small sample of frustration. Here's how I ended up via manual pick with predictive results, and I kind of like it.

    • Same... With the personnel the Niners had, that defense could have been historically good in the right hands. Under Wilks they were certainly good, they didn't quite rise to that level. Honestly, I see Wilks kinda like I see Rivera: fantastic person, decent head coach. Skill wise, phenomenal DB coach, so-so DC. His greatest strength is his leadership. Hard to find many better in that department. In the Xs and Os / execution area though, not as good. Bottom Line: Wilks is the sort of coach that needs a staff that excels in those aspects of the game where he's weaker. But, like Rivera, I don't know that he scouts assistants very well. That as much as anything might be why he's not in the NFL now.
    • Clearly the best outcome for us is a Giants W. A spot or two difference in the 4th round is inconsequential. Just look at the trade value charts. A spot or two at the top of the 1st means a LOT. A spot or two in the mid-rounds? Virtually nothing.
    • Agree. I don't think I have ever heard him say anything positive, at any time, about the Panthers. Best expectation is no mention at all.
