you completely overlook the ridiculous contract extensions doled out immediately after the lockout ceased in the summer of 2011. the cap situation from that point was so bad that almost all of our available money up to 2015 was spoken for in prorated signing bonuses.

this franchise was going nowhere under the leadership of JR and hurney. get back to me when you have a clue.

Lol ... 2009- 2010 was the start of that with Jake's contract .. Wow way to show you don't have a clue..

And everybody knew after 2012 season that this team was close to turning the corner..  Win total was increasing and they ended the season strong with most of their losses being from TD or less..

That's why Gman when he came in himself said this was a good roster.. Gave alot of credit to Hurney and didn't fire many if any of Hurney's fo staff, scouts or coaching hires..

So please keep thinking you know what you're talking about when the actual actions of your savior were very different...

Gettleman was good during his time here.

Gettleman is the worst thing to happen to the Giants.

Both can be and are true.

Gentlemen was solid here and could have been better if he didn't get in his own way...

He also had a strong core roster built for him before he got here which helped...

Now he has to build a team from scratch without the solid foundation he had here and so far not so good .. We will see if he can survive long enough to see if he can do it..

Nonsense he did it here 2014 (Wr corp and oline) and 2016 (Secondary)..

Reality check..

Gman loved to show ppl he can replace them with lesser talent.. He also love changing position groups in the offseason..

What you speculate happened here doesn't have anyrhing to do with what happens there.

That's Your opinion.. I can see the pattern .. If a player isn't a boy scout and bowing to him they gone.. He goes out of his way to change whole positions groups when he didn't have to... At some point this is who he is...

And some of you can have your head in the sand and not see reality but facts are..

I have never seen players attack a GM like they do Gettlemen.. I have never seen players get joy in a GM being fired like they were when Gettelmen got fired.. And you can say this guy was a diva, and this guy was a cancer but even the "good guys" (Gross, Beason) don't like how he treated them...

At some point you can see the same pattern happening again and again...

Come on run half your offseason so far has been doom and gloom .  No need to flip flop now.

Ummmmm I have literally posted a handful of times since the new year. And anyone with a brain would know rehiring a GM you fired previously is incompetent management. I don’t like the Hurney/Rivera combo retread. Like MOST fans here have voiced, we need a fresh change. But I haven’t been shitting up threads with that talk so I don’t know why you are singling me out as if I’ve been doom and gloom this entire time.

Alight.. Act like you've haven't been here predicting doom and gloom if you want.. But I know a few times me and others have  called you and Scot out on it a few times this offseason..

Moving on..

You might not like it or disagree with the rehiring of Hurney but what's done is done.. Just like many here didn't like losing Norman and Smitty for nothing.. We moved on and judge each move as it came.. Hurney so far hasn't done anything detrimental and has actually added some talent.. So no need to drag him every time he wipes his ass a different way. And Gman isn't having the same instant success he had here.  So it is what it is..

The good news (for giants fans) is Dave got rid of a huge contract, got a starting SS with 2 years on his rookie contract to replace Collins (and his huge contract)  and the # 17 and # 95 pick. That's a very G-man move, the man can free cap space.

The bad news (for Giants fans) is that OBJ is one of the top 3 WR in the league, and a true game changer. Sterling Shepard is now their only decent WR.

Still, this looks pretty good:

Now after the trade for Beckham, here is an updated look at the Giants draft pick order:

  • No. 6 overall (Round 1)
  • No 17 overall (Round 1)
  • No. 37 overall (Round 2)
  • No. 95 overall (Round 3)
  • No. 108 overall (Round 4)
  • No. 133 overall (Round 4)
  • No. 142 overall (Round 5)
  • No. 143 overall (Round 5)
  • No. 171 overall (Round 5)
  • No. 180 overall (Round 6)
  • No. 232 overall (Round 7)
  • No. 245 overall (Round 7)

I think this is a good move for the Giants, why is everyone all over Gettle’s nuts about it? Still salty it looks like

no need to keep a premier Wr drama queen on a team without a qb that is clearly being rebuilt and already has the best rb in the nfl in place on a rookie deal

that panthers would’ve never resigned OBJ and got nothing...gettle resigned him them traded to browns and came away with something

Not a bad move for the browns either
