"Real" fans remember  the 2 years before Gettelmen got the team was a team coming from Rock bottom trying to build up..

2011 Cam was a rookie who was spectacular but couldn't finish games out.. We had no defense due to alot of injuries (TD, Beason most notably) and a rookie coach.. 6-10

2012 Team got better but lost close games and Rivera was still trying to find himself .. 7-9

2013 - 13-3 

Like I said the team was building up before Gettelmen got here..

I think the Giants and Gettleman know something that the Browns and everyone else doesn't.  Beckham is a no character guy who is clearly unstable mentally and has repeatedly embarrassed Mara and Tisch families, and the franchise broadly.  The no class OBJ just doesn't fit with a first class organization like the Giants and the owners were certainly a part of this decision.

Let's see what happens, only time will tell who got the best side of this transaction.

summarizing 2011-2012 as this great rebuilding effort that wouldn’t mature until the year after sounds like revisionist horseshit considering that a lot of the moves made then buried us in cap hell until 2015, but whatever. do you boo.

Than Gettelmen and the Giants should have known this last year before signing him.. They could have traded him last year and not have the dead money..

Also let's remember this.. Gman isn't Young.. This is atleast a 3 year rebuild to be competitive again and that's in the perfect scenario that he really hits on his picks.. History is iffy on that..

He just set the table for the next Giants GM imo..

No genius 2009 -2010 was the cap crushing decision years.. 2011 was the start of the rebuild and it didn't take Nostradamus to see  Cam was getting better Luke made the defense better the team was a few coaching moves and balls bouncing there way on being a better team.. Because you couldn't see it isn't my fault .
