Just How Big is our need at CB too? (Panthers meeting with rd 2-3 CB's)

I have been saying for 2 years that people are short selling Bradberry.   He spends most of his day covering  the best WRs  in the NFL--and he does a good job.  2 years ago, he had nothing at S behind him.  This past season, the pass rush was not great.

That is not to diminish Jackson.  He was a rookie, a very good one.  Frankly, I was not happy when we drafted him.  I was wrong.

This is Bradberry's contract year.  He is very good.  After this year, we're either going to pay him $10 mil per year or let him walk.  Drafting a CB in the third makes a lot of sense.

Due diligence most likely. But are in definite need of a NB and another outside CB for depth next year. If Jackson or Bradberry go down for any significant time we are fuged

And jackson is too short to be covering outside guys. If we got someone that can take away the slot, it takes away that quick dump off and allows our dline to get pressure

I am in the minority but I would like us to get a bigger fast press corner and move Jackson to the slot where he will be most effective.

I could actually see us drafting a CB early, like 2nd or 3rd round. I could see us grabbing a CB and Safety actually. OT DE CB Safety first 4 picks in no particular order.

Bradberry is good but not great, but some team out there will buy the farm for him next year.

I would be fine with all of this.  Yes we need a DE.  But in today’s NFL playing Nickel so much I think the best way to make our defense better would be to get a CB and move Jackson to Nickel.  That’s one hell of a secondary.  

The one part I don’t like is I feel RR is gonna stay with his man crush Searcy at FS. He dropped a bunch a weight when he came here to play it.

We need that kind of guy on the outside and Jackson going to nickel. That isn't a demotion. The nickel corner is becoming increasingly important.

Per combine 6'4, 4.64 40, this is classic MH convert to FS material. Slide Gaulden back to his college nickel position.

Seems apparent CB will be on the short list of positions. I feel like the beat writers have hinted at Mark Fields, and the hints usually mean something.  Even if it's not Fields, a Day 2 or without question a Day 3 CB will get thrown into the mix.
