The Panthers are continuing to search for a long-term BACKUP. This doesn’t preclude looking into draft options, as Rivera said at the combine last month. Heinicke’s time obviously cut short last season when he took a beating behind that line.

Panthers give Heinicke a one-year deal, rather than tender him as an RFA.

Kid's opening drive made him look like a star but every drive after that just kept getting worse till he got hurt.

I know Norv Turner is a fan of his but still...
