Have you grown numb to our lack participation in free agency

Eh, I'm not big on splash FA signings.

I do think it may be time for a "direction of the franchise" right now.  We seem rudderless currently.

A lot of the seemingly realistic options got REALLY unrealistic in the current market. Perhaps we can get some dumpster diving depth. If we get 3-4 guys in the two deep through the draft, it would be an absolute grand slam.

At this point, I am expecting that we are likely to see this rebuilding effort stretch into next offseason. I am less optimistic about us being able to shore up the OL, DL and secondary in this offseason.

Yep, we complain about lack of cap space when we could double it for little to no impact. But, but what if we need Smith to start or Kalil to anchor the OL. If that’s the case put Cam on ice and go for the top pick because that means our draft of a tackle was unsuccessful and Moore and Samuel are hurt.

We are rudderless. If we are hoping for the best then cut the dead weight and grow the cap for next year so we can be a player and play the young guys and get two 3rd round comp picks next year.

That's kinda where I am as well.

Are we looking at a full rebuild.  A retooling?  Making a run?

Maybe they are just waiting to see if Cam can hold up a full season...but I feel that we really don't know what we are right now, and another year of Cam and Luke down the drain.

It certainly doesn't feel that we are gearing up for a SB run.

How do you justify trying to see if Cam holds up a full season if you keep a guy like Kalil and then have two other obvious positions on the OL that need upgrades? If that is their plan, I would rather they shut down Cam for the year and just tank.

I am not going to get too discouraged this early into free agency but seeing the size of these contracts and what some of our potential targets are getting has definitely tempered my expectations.  I think we are going to likely be a team with some big holes come opening day.

It's funny, if you talk to fans of the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Bucs, Washington Redskins, etc. that are known for big spending each year, they would say the same thing.

All of those teams have SB rings and back to back winning seasons though.

I hope I'm wrong, but this feels like Tepper giving Ron and Marty all the rope they want....to see if they will hang themselves with it.

Treading water.

Well, I absolutely do not want a meddling owner. The history of guys like that is not riddled with success. I am assuming this is a Hurney and Rivera driven offseason and that Tepper is not going to micromanage.

My biggest fear is that between Hurney and Rivera they are convinced that most of the answers are on the roster. To me, that is the most concerning possibility.
