How? Captain was an absolute liability in coverage. Adams was a solid player for us, but Father Time caught him last year. He was a liability as well. Funchess is one of the most unreliable WRs I've ever seen. He's straight trash. I wouldn't want him back at veteran minimum. We're seriously better off without all three of those guys going forward.

And just the same as if I lost $3, I won't miss those three either. Rivera loves his vets. The only way to ensure he won't play them over younger better talent is to get rid of them. It's a big part of the reason why I'm concerned about the Torrey Smith coming back. Yeah, he's not worth $5M, but I'm at least as concerned that Ron will play him over better younger received as I am the cap mismanagement.

I'm not sure why so many Panthers fans think that holding onto terrible players prevents holes on the roster. The holes were already there. Those guys were trash.

Yea and they were on a team that lost 7 games in a row so man things are going to be really bad next season or maybe not who the hell knows none of this sh!t makes any sense

We already upgraded by not spending money on those guys and opening up opportunities for others. We should've continued the "upgrades" by releasing other dead weight like Matt Kalil, Searcy, and Torrey Smith. Spending money on trash doesn't help your team.

It's hilarious how many of our fans buy the company line that we are "winning" free agency by not overspending on free agents.  

Damn sure looks to me like the Rams and Saints spent their way to the NFC title game last year.  

And I don't want to hear anything about the Pats.  They've got the best coach in the history of sports, and all-star players take less money to play for them on a consistent basis.

They gained a solid coach and they should be better next season. Panthers retained a coach that said "Sh!t happens" after the worst blowout in his tenure as head coach then proceeded to lose 7 games in a row.
