Are we getting Greedy?

I haven't seen the LSU cornerback being talked about much at 16 considering DE & OT are positions we NEED to upgrade. But we were getting DESTROYED in the slot last year with Munnerlyn there and DJax having the cover the outside. Greedy is a tall press corner that has all of the physical attributes to excel in the NFL. This would give us 3 VERY solid cornerbacks on our defense and allow DJax to move into the "nickel" to cover those slippery receivers on the quick slants. It's probable not a popular choice and it comes down to value and who is on the board but what would be your reaction if he was the pick at 16?

Assuming Sweat, Jonah Williams & the top 5 D Lineman (Bosa, Allen, Gary, Oliver & Williams) are off the board.

I could live with it.  Adding a good FS we'd suddenly have a hell of a secondary.

If we somehow signed Dix & drafted Greedy we'd probably be fuged on the D line but totally set in the secondary. We have a poo load riding on this draft particular in the mid rounds. I hate being broke.

I know the combine us just shorts and all, but he was mightily unimpressive.  He looked extremely stiff and lacked fluidity in his movement during drills.  I think he's gonna be a lot closer to Mo Claiborne than a Pat Pete, or even DJack.

I didn't see the combine but I watched a few LSU games. My one reservation with him is that I don't know if he's tough enough. I've gotten spoiled with DJax's bravado and swagger. Even James has that silent intimidation. Greedy will need to toughen up if he wants to play in the NFL but I do believe he has the physical traits.

Lets say we do add Greedy which I wouldn't be mad at.  To have Bradberry, Action Jackon, and Greedy who switches to nickel.  On paper you would say keep Bradberry and Greedy outside and move Donte to nickel.  One hell of a line up IMO. but the way Donte played last year, maybe Donte and Greedy and move Bradbury to nickel.

James belongs on the outside imo. He doesn't have that lateral quickness to cover quick slants. He is however very good at covering tall powerful receivers on the outside. (Evans, Jones) I feel like DJax would THRIVE in the nickel position. He would see more blitz action too.

That boy did fly off the edges there on a couple of corner blitzes last year. Brought the stick with him to on a couple of those quarterbacks

The move no one is taking about, like some one said earlier, sign a top fs and draft greedy in the first and spend the rest of the draft beefing up the edge d line and o line and we are cooking. Look at our division, and also a smart move since James is in a contract year. Really would like this approach by the FO

I think Jackson fits well on the outside and wouldn’t be as good in the slot. Slot CBs aren’t all that hard to find so drafting a CB at 16 just to solve the slot wouldn’t make much sense. If we don’t plan on re-signing Bradberry however, then I could get on board with this. Prefer DL though, edge of course but if there’s a blue chip interior DL I’m cool with that too.
