All trades had to be contingent on Brown getting a completely new deal making him the highest paid WR annually. Few teams have the space want to make that kind of commitment on a 31 year old disgruntled receiver. The trade value was low because Steelers had zero leverage and very few buyers that could meet Brown's demands. I'm glad he's not in the NFC at least.

I tried to tell the AB haters in the other thread. AB had plenty of leverage, and it didn't matter if the Steelers were the mighty Steelers. At the end of the day, they were between a rock and a hard place. They probably should have just acquiesced earlier, because as time went on his trade value decreased precipitously.

They will get that comp pick though.:eyeroll: :)

They effectively got their comp pic(s)! Great value!

Comp pick for what? This wasn’t a free agent leaving. This was a trade to which the Steelers agreed. Why would they get a comp pick?

lol at getting yourself shipped off to Oakland. It seems fairly obvious that Brown thought early in the process that he was going tohave a line of the league's best teams to choose from. But good teams don't typically deal with circus acts like this. Now he has to see it through and act like he's jacked.

This dude is a is a 1-4 start away from a sideline meltdown over the mistake he made.

Seeing it was just a 3rd and 5th to get Brown is a bit of a bummer, knowing Hurney might have been able to Olsen him from the Steelers

But on the flip side dude is a head case and probably going to wither away in Oakland for a couple seasons before he has a late career resurgence with 45 year old Tom Brady
