Smith doesn't care what naysayers say

Smith has two Super Bowl rings (after playing key roles for each) and more than one decent season in his NFL career. He hasn't actually been an injury risk over his career either. The Kalil comparison is a little off kilter.

That seems to be the MO of several posters. Try and discount what you say with extreme characterizations to discount what was said making comparisons that aren't even close

If’s and but’s and could have and would have. But the fact is they didn’t want him at that price and announced they were going to cut him. What actually happened compared to fiction and hope

Your responses are like a broken record. There are no ifs and buts regarding Smith in my post, you are apparently confusing the two. The only ifs and buts are in reference to the Eagles and the Panthers. Feel free to think that the Eagles are so much more successful than us, I don't.

As for Smith being shipped, perhaps I'll repeat myself: NFL players are shipped out all the time, particularly role players who are journeyman. It's just the nature of the business. It's hardly a reason to imply that a player has no value. That's up to a team each and every season. Situations change each year.

Maybe they thought he was done. Maybe they didn't think that he was needed anymore with the growth of Agholor. Maybe they needed the cap space. Who cares? Circumstances change every season in the NFL.

Yes. There all based on facts. Not what might have happened. Which is your defense for every issue. He was going to be cut. Now a season, injury and a year older, he’s going to have that value other teams didn’t think he had coming off a mighty SB win. That is fact. SSDD

There is what happened and there are excuses. Your daily routine is the latter. You posted the story for a reaction. You got it.

Funchess and KB believed in themselves as well. Don't care what he says. I care what he does.

All I can say is prove it. You've taken up a lot of cap space. You want more respect, earn it. When the season starts, you catch every frikkin ball thrown at you and don't make BS excuses for when you don't.

I don't need excuses for anything. You're obviously delusional. He may need some excuses, or Rivera. I'm just giving reasons and food for thought as to the mindset of players, coaches and Tepper. If you can't stand rationale as to why certain decisions are made, even if you don't agree with them, that's your issue.

I haven't heard him making excuses for drops. Indeed I haven't heard anyone making excuses for drops. They're really isn't any excuse for a drop for the most part. It would be great if they all caught everything, but unfortunately that's not the reality in the NFL. He does need to catch better, but at some point a player's strengths and weaknesses are known (if not notorious), so you learn to take the bad with the good depending upon the situation.

A "lot of cap space" is a matter of perspective.

As for respect, he already told you that he has it from those in the building. Whether fans respect him or not is immaterial.

Unlike Funchess and KB, at least Smith's belief is built upon actually succeeding and doing. He has done it before. Them...?

They are the only people in the stadium NOT paying to watch him play.
