all of that incoherent rambling was basically a recitation of what you already said. thanks for wasting my time. i’d ask you to venmo me for humoring you, but i think you need the bus fare so forget about it.

giving ron the bulk of the credit for that run is some of the most revisionist bullshit i’ve read on here for some time. if ron was that good he would have at least beat the niners at home in the playoffs since he had already shown he could beat a team like that with the roster that he had in that year. but he didn’t. he struggled with clock management and in his early years he struggled a lot with that. we’ve lost or almost lost a lot of games bc he wants to sit on a 10 point lead before the 2nd quarter is even over. if it wasn’t for a rule change we definitely would’ve lost that monday night game against indy in 2015 which would have ended the winning streak months before it actually happened and it’s bc he softened up when we were up 23-6. he doesn’t do a good job managing his staff and overpromotes his assistants (while more qualified external candidates are available) until they are in way over their head and don’t know what they are doing. he isn’t very competitive against division rivals. that game he called against pittsburgh last season was a fuging disgrace and then he follows it up with 6 more losses in a row.

Whatever. I'd bet everything that the vast majority of NFL types will tell you that Rivera is a better coach than Gettleman is a GM. Deal with it!

i already refuted your points

if you want to repeat them that’s not my problem

Really? So for instance, that’s how you want to leave the Eric Reid/Hurney/Tepper argument? You spout some nonsense conspiracy theory about Tepper being behind that signing (lol) and invoke JR’s name for some reason, I call you out on it, and that’s just me repeating my point apparently. Must be a pretty good one if you can’t address it. But by all means...don’t let facts get in the way of your tirade. You’re clearly one of the more emotionally invested anti-Hurney posters on here, so once again, you’re not the type of person equipped to have a logical, empirically-based discussion with. Oh whoops, there I go actually repeating myself.

it’s not nonsense

eric reid wouldn’t be here if JR was still owning the team. it’s pretty obvious if you take the blinders off.

I'm sure there are several teams who think Rivera makes a great coach for the Panthers.

The Saints and Falcons certainly do.

how many GMs get the same job less than a year after being fired?

The fact that Gettleman got the same job less than a year after being fired (particularly under highly perplexing circumstances) doesn't mean that he's a better GM than Rivera is a coach. Perhaps a better question is how many coaches have remained after a GM is fired? There are likely precedents for both, but even if they're aren't, it doesn't have anything to do with my assertion that more people who work for the NFL and those that analyze it, will likely tell you that Rivera has been a better coach than Gettleman has been a GM. Deal with it!

But for genuine reasons, not for the sarcastic suggestion from a football message board.

in general, it’s easier to find a second gig as a head coach than as an executive. you continue to make assumptions to re-affirm your stances and put your lack of perspective on display for everybody to see.

That's rich coming from you. I am sure that if we take a poll, I would be one of the Huddlers known for a great degree of perspective, certainly more than you.

there’s a whole world out there beyond the huddle that doesn’t run off of the same popular opinion circle jerks that you take so much pride in leading

That's laughable. I've taken on popular opinion and gone against the grain within the confines of the Huddle, as well as beyond it.

Now, rush off to your "Amen" corner!

So your logic is that since JR would have blackballed this signing...then Tepper in turn gets credit for it, by simply allowing it to happen? Amazing...and that ladies and gentlemen, is a prime example of employing mental gymnastics to fit a narrative.
