The turning point

Most of the folks looking for a pivotal moment yesterday will point to Kenny Moore's fumbled punt.

I disagree.

The moment for me where I really felt we were going to lose was on the failed 4th and 1 attempt.

I knew what was coming. My girlfrend knew what was coming. Anybody with half a brain and a fifth grade education knew what was coming.

More to the point, the Bills knew what was coming.

Last year, we were good enough to make that play even when teams knew what to expect. This year, we aren't, and the coaching staff needs to be smart enough to understand that and adjust accordingly.

I feel sorry for kenny moore...He made a mistake but he probably felt like he lost this game. It was delhomme that lost the game for us. When John kasay misses 2 easy field goals I should have realized it was over before it started.

I agree with you on the 4th and 1. I also think the previous call on the 3rd and 7 in that scenario was horrific. That 3rd and 4th down were the turning point.

Moore should have secured that kick...but it isn't Moore's fault Carolina's hopes came down to a last drive where they had to score a TD and then a 2pt converstion just to get the game into OT.

To me, it took too long to decide. The guys were rushed to the line and seemed out of kilter. What I don't understand is why it took so long - was Kasay really a possibility to kick again?

Moore slipped up but I knew Delhomme would drive us down to win anyways so no, it wasnt Moore. It was Delhomme and his 3 damn interceptions!

The turning point(s) were the INTs. Each led to a score. The fumbled punt was simply icing on the cake.

Failure to convert on 4th was unlucky---not a result of our sorry offense.

I agree that the three interceptions were the most damaging as they led directly to points on the board, but I think the missed field goals contributed more to the loss than people realize. By missing out on those seemingly few six points, we slowly started to abandon the run and play catch up. And because of the two earlier missed field goals, Fox went for it on that failed fourth-down conversion.

Not to mention those missed field goals killed what little offensive momentum we had going for us.

The turning point was on Tuesday when we started prepping for the game. We did nothing to avoid their superb ST's and again failed to do ANYTHING to get the offense moving. This team has no heart, no desire- check that, our Offense has no heart and look absolutely content punting the ball away.

There are a couple of good reasons to bench Jake. The attitude change is perhaps the most important.

that 4th and 1 was a boneheaded call just because it was so predictable and it was obvious that they were so ready for it.

not sure i know that was the turning point (i vote for kasay missing the first and jake throwing his first as key points).

The first Delhomme interception that lead to a TD was what killed us yesterday, you could see the look on the faces of the team and it was a clear "here we go again" sort of vibe.
