Well, this mock happened because Rivera decided that we wanted to win a meaningless week17 game.

Like the alternative was ever in the realm of reality...Y'all just need to stop. You really do. People who fancy themselves as football aficionados should reject such a contrived, delusional narrative.

I would offer Daryl a 8m a year contract with a bunch of guaranteed money. He would be making more than a bunch of good RTs.

Big guaranteed money is exactly what I'd want to stay away from with a guy coming off of a season ending knee injury. Per year values get thrown around a lot but they're honestly kind of irrelevant. The only thing that really matters is the guaranteed money and how the cap hits/dead money is structured.

We have no money, doubt we sign anyone of significance this year. Compared to other teams cap situations, we're treading water.

Few teams manage to somehow adjust and overcome cap troubles and we can do same. Take a look at Saints(for instance) because they had cap troubles but still brought in good talented players.

That's why guys like a Bennett, ASJ or Jesse James could be potentially big little splashes. Acquiring a guy like Trae Waynes via trade would be a big little splash with long term potential (as would maybe ASJ or Jesse James). That's about all you can hope for in free agency with relatively little money.

There’s a ton of “fat” that can/will be trimmed from that. Smith, Searcy, Kalil. Poe, Shaq?, Cam restructured?. Lots of possibilities.

Since it looks like the de market is dry, time too focus on the other side of the line, signing Williams back depends on what he is particularly looking for, long term or money, or both, right now I’d offer a 2-3 yr deal worth 7.5 a year and wouldn’t budge from that, 12 mil guaranteed. I don’t know what’s the deal with Larsen, I felt like he should get a shot at center based off his 2017 season but if not sign the center from Denver.

Probably the biggest move we can make in fa is going after one of the top safeties, honey badger, earl Thomas, Joyner or Tre Boston who would be a cheaper valued option.

So my opinion,  grab trey flowers(or trade our 2nd for a quality pass rusher), sign either Honey badger, Thomas, Joyner, or Boston.

1st round De/Cb/Ot

2nd C/G/Dt

3rdA Te/Wr/Cb/Lb

Yada yada yada

you get for what you pay for, these moves along with a healthy cam would puts us back in Super Bowl contention

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we can't save a penny with releasing Kalil until after June 1st, right? But by then, all the good FA's are gone, so cutting him to have money to sign somebody is not real. If you cut him now, you don't save anything. We don't have a lot of money and probably won't sign any real good DE and I doubt Williams as he will get good money too from somebody.
