The Raiders taking Metcalf at #4 would be like nothing ever happened to Al Davis and he's still there making the picks.

Yeh I think Gruden has to draft a great pass rusher, which was the point of trading away Mack. He can get someone else with his other 2 first round picks.

If the rumors are true and they're moving on from Carr they gotta find a QB too.

But yeah, they gotta go QB or pass rusher.

I'm nervous about 1st round LTs. Seems like all of these "instant starter, lock the position down for a decade" types have been busting over and over again in recent years. If we think he's a legit starting LT, then I have no problem with the pick though.

I'm very nervous about a OT in the 1st but I feel like we fugging need to at least try after not being in a position to sniff one in the draft since Gross retired. And, even if they fail on the outside, we have need on the inside. How long till Turner is a possible cap casualty with that hit and his recent play?

Derek freaks out and throws the ball away at the first sign someone is coming for him— I watched a couple of their games.  He looked good for a few years but now he’s got his brother’s ghost disease.

Id take Sweat over him in a heartbeat

Sweat is just a freak, has the size.

People are forgetting he produced to thinking he is just a combine product (he's had double digit sacks his only 2 seasons at MSU)

And his length with those tentacles are a game changer.  Just getting your hand on the QB slows him down a little and gives others the opportunity to swarm.  Also the batting the passes.  He also is a Glue fit for our scheme.

Its a lot easier to find a RT in FA than a edge like him in FA or later rounds

Also our staff loves him, as you saw they brought him in to really talk scheming with him.

The thought of him standing rushing om the edge is frightening, Jason Taylor esc

But he will likely be gone, dude just put up better #s than Clowney at the Combine (including 3 cone and shuttle which is the big thing to look with edge rushers)

If Sweat and Williams are somehow there, then I believe Sweat would win out because it's the sexy move. I just don't know if I could pull the trigger considering Cam. If Williams is all that people think that he is---basically the real deal---then one day we'd hate ourselves for letting him get away. I know that the same could be said for Sweat, but real-deal DEs are easier to find than the likes of Joe Thomas.

I went for building the lines and filling needs with my draft.

1. Williams was BPA and a plug and play LT, his arm length and concerns about his foot speed are overblown.

2. I feel Omenihu is more of a DE than a DT and a damn good player.

3. Thornhill was best S available at that round and fills in the hole at FS, he blew up the combine.

3. Really a fan of Banogu and he tested really well at the combine while setting a record for Broad Jump at DL.

4. Prescod is a mountain of a man and can slip in at LG but needs to slim down a bit, reminds me of Travelle Wharton. Was one of PFF's highest rated pass blockers.

5. Russell is another big man that stuffs the run better than he rushes the passer, good luck moving him in the run game.

6. Hyatt is much needed depth at RT and LT because behind the starters, we dont have much.

If they were smart and the draft fell that way they'd just open up the auction block for that pick. I just think he ultimately goes #1 to Arizona. Kingsbury wants him. Why hire Kingsbury if you're not drafting Murray? I can't see him lasting until #7 without someone taking him or someone trading down for someone else to take him.

I heard two things coming out the combine. Murray is going #1 overall and the Raiders are shopping Carr. Connecting the dots, Arizona is going to trade down from 1 to 4, and pick up the Chicago pick (20 something). Raiders get Murray at 1.

Still though, why hire Kingsbury if he wants Murray and you don't plan on drafting him? It just doesn't make sense.

I just think Kingsbury is such a far out, boom or bust hire that if you hire him you have to go all in on him. Give him what he wants and give him his best chance to succeed.

*For the record, I think the Kingsbury experiment will be a massive bust.

Kingsbury "Likes" Murray

But he is a young coach getting his shot at a team with no patience (see Withers Firing after 1 season)

He knows he isnt going to win just by replacing the QB.  A Lot of media ran with the story from a old interview.  He has also been on record since he has arrived in Arizona that he likes Rosen as well.

Gruden was drooling all over Murray at senior bowl week even with Murray not being there

Whats the 1 position teams trade up to the #1 spot for?                        A QB

Whats Kingsbury known for?  A stud QB coach.

So when he hears Chucky drooling on the guy, he is going to hype him up and act like he is going to take him.  Raiders have said they are going to make moves on draft day as well.

They have 3 1st rounder this year and 2 next year.  Kingsbury knows he can rob Chucky because he have something Chucky really wants.

He can easily move to the 4 spot now and get another 1st and 3rd this year, and a 1st next year.   Thats more picks to fill more holes

He wouldnt be letting anything like this leak if he was going to grab Murray.  Because this is just tanking the value of Rosen and they wont get crap off him

In addition, the NFL seems terrible at keeping secrets (we already know Foles to Jax). I think we'd have heard rumors about Arizona shopping Rosen. So if they aren't shopping Rosen, and the Raiders are shopping Carr and Murray is going #1....

Or maybe its all smoke.Who knows. #talentEvaluationSeason

No way to know what they'll end up doing, but either way he'd be talking up Rosen. There's nothing at all to gain by saying anything the least bit negative or even neutral about the guy.

At the end of the day, you need a coach and a QB to consistently succeed in the NFL. Everything else is negotiable. Yeah, you'd love to have a stud WR, but plenty of very good teams don't. The same is true for every other position. LT, DE, CB, and on and on. If you have a coach and a QB you can compete, if you don't you can't.

If Kingbury thinks that Murray gives him his best chance at success he should be pressuring the hell out of the Cardinals to draft him, period. Like you said, the Cardinals have shown they can be quick to pull the trigger. Getting a ton of draft capital might not do him any good if they suck again this year. Might be some new coach coming in and pushing for Tua Tagovailoa or Aaron Murray this time next year.
