Do you want me to define tape for you?

judging by your post history your more worried about defending Gettleman than improving the team. Gettleman is a terrible GM  that rode the coattails of players he didn’t even draft, get over it

I don’t know what your “convenient” tape means except that you act like you have film on every game ever played. And just happened to watch every play of Collins career with a less-biased view than PFF. Is this what you’re selling with “tape”.

No. Total bias is your thing. I’ve bashed Gettleman for many things. And defended Hurney. And there are plenty of posters and plenty of posts I can pull to prove it. How about you show us ONE post where you praised anything DG ever did. If anyone’s posting history leads to a biased conclusion, it’s you by far.

I don't get the pro/anti-Gettleman an pro/anti-Hurney contingents.

Both did some good things, both ultimately deserved to get fired. Gettleman did a great job digging us out of Hurney's mess, but then quickly turned around and dug his own mess. Hurney was in all likelihood brought back because he was willing to be JR's yes man and take care of Olsen, but then he seems to have knocked it out of the park with his first draft and laid yet another egg in FA.

I think this year is absolutely do or die for Hurney/Rivera. I'm not surprised Rivera was given another year but I honestly am surprised that Hurney was, due to both of their track records. That draft probably gave Hurney a life raft.

I’ll answer for me. I don’t care that Gettleman is gone. But the fact that he was let go for a proven inferior option who is still here and screwing up the team on a regular basis is unacceptable.

And somehow this was a good thing for the franchise to hire a GM that couldn’t get another NFL job with a gun.

No one bashed Gettleman more than I did for the Matt Kalil signing. But because I didn’t think everything he did was bad while leading us through the best stretch in team history, I was an apologist.

I guess every time(about 30 of them) I prove that Hurney did nothing wrong with regards to Matt Kalils contract, am I a Hurney apologist? Hard to keep up with whatever label is conveniently used when people run out of words to defend their point.

Or an improvement from the season before. Kind of like the 5 game improvement we made when he took over.

How mich better did we do this year? Oh wait.......

Sounds pretty balanced to me.

I’d be for it. He is a super talented football player. Are there better safeties in coverage? Yea, but he is still would probably be the best safety we’ve ever had. Certainly the best duo, if paired with Reid. He’s twice as good as Coleman and Coleman looked like a stud in our defense. With out linemen, reid, and Luke, no one would be able to run on us. Just need that pass rusher so teams don’t have all day to pass.

The problem is that he and Reid are redundant. They're both better box safeties than they are deep safeties. Every safety has to be able to do a little of both or else the defensive secondary becomes very predictable, but we would essentially be forced to play someone out of position on every defensive play. That's not exactly ideal.

Damn you're really showing your biases lol. you think a 5 win season is a real improvement

I'm having a fun time reading giants forums, and boards, gettleman is going to be out the door next year, their fanbase isn't a bunch of statusquo pussies that default to daddy everytime they have a chance to think for themselves.

Landon Collins is 25, has made 3 Pro Bowls, and by all accounts the locker room loves him. Paying him 11 million a year isn't asking too much at all.

I predict their defense next year will be historically bad, even worse than the atrocious effort from this past season.

We just signed the guy to do that job at 7 mil and I was talking about the Giants who have so many issues a SS isn't make or break. He played terrible at FS (rookie year it was sad), which please god, is what we need. I think your prediction is spot on but you could go further and say the offense won't be any good either. They have a ton of old contracts that will need to be dumped in the rebuild mode which they seem to be trying to avoid. He is not a cover Safety, he's a classic SS. I wouldn't want my team paying 11 million for that, I favor cover Safeties. And making the Probowl, being based on popularity and not by merit, is a little iffy. He played in the largest market in the country. He is not terrible but he is not worth 11 million a year.

Kind of like the 4 games more we lost wasn’t really a downgrade.

And if DG got fired tomorrow and never worked again, I wouldn’t care. Unlike the sad people who claim people who are obsessed with Gettleman, but they’re the ones constantly going to another’s teams fan boards just to find out anything they can about him. Who’s obsessed again? That’s sad. I wouldn’t even know where to go to do something like that nor can imagine wanting to.

Whatever deflects from one being vastly superior than the other. Wanna guess which one we have?

I guess Cam's shoulder going out halfway into the season didn't have anything to do with it, and I guess that Hurney being in charge of an 11-5 season returning is just being written off as Gettleman's, right?

It must really burn you up that Hurney came back and had the best draft the Panthers seen in years. Getting what looks to be 3 high quality starters.

I bet you're fuming. lolo

Well considering all Hurney did was choose the wrong PK(twice) and trade KB, which left us with a practice squad WR group for a playoff game, what exactly should we give him as far as credit goes for 2017.

You mean the best draft since 2017? The one where DG drafted 3 starters or 5 if you count Armah and cheap PK we let go.

Cam was hurt for most of 2016. Parts of 2014. Are we giving the same pass for those seasons as well?

I know actual facts suck for you in these threads.

Why is Hurney a better GM despite the huge disparity in their records. Surely there is one legit reason.

The 2017 draft was actually better. And talking about people not defending the status quo while you're defending a GM with a horrible record in that job is pretty funny.

Of course, I figure you're probably just trolling to be stupid. Good news: You're achieving your goal.

I haven't defended anyone, this name I'm using is just to get reactions from fanboys like you.

2017 draft was trash too. the value per player was horrible outside of moton. trading up in in the third round, using the 3rd round comp pick from norman for a poo defensive end that was projected as a 6th-UDFA was peak gettleman

Oh and a fourth for a punter, was a classic gettleman FA move.

lmaoooo
