Sweat just ran out of our reach 4.42 defensive end.

All of Sweat’s sacks in 17 and 18 came against the bottom teams in the SEC. He has zero sacks in two years against Alabama, Georgia, and Florida and 1 sack against LSU.

He beat up on bad teams and looks like a work out warrior. Ferrell had better production against NFL talent at the collegiate level.

Oh yeah, he’s also pretty bad against the run, something that Ferrell excels at.

He may turn out to be a great 3-4 olb, but I just don’t see him being a better all around 4-3 end than Ferrell.

How'd he play against Dalron Risner, an OT strong enough to withstand his bullrush?

Sweat has a ton of tools to work with and could be good but i think he's a bit overrated

You guys do realize we pick 16th right?

I mean, everyone acts like 100 players will be picked before we pick. There will be a run on certain positions as always and there will be players of certain positions that are plentiful— it’s just supply and demand.

whats Everyone going to do when Sweat is there and we pick a TE or WR or OT? Crow if you want to but we don’t get to decide.

Sweat had 1 sack and 2 tackles for loss. I'd love to have both

How did Ferrell play against Jonah Williams, the guy who is considered by many as the best left tackle in the draft?

Ferrell may not have the better combine numbers but he has the better stats in college and performed better against NFL caliber talent.

Sure. Trade next years first, in a year where Cam could go down at anytime, and leave us with a top 5 pick. Or trade any of our 2-3s we have this year? Because we don’t have enough holes to fill.

You can’t come up with anyone else to pick at DE and go as far talk down ferrell. But your problem is I would be happy with a top 10 caliber player with all other choices off the board.  Sure. That makes sense.

Just say what you mean. You want the Panthers to do anything possible or impossible to get a hold of Gary.

Look man.. Farrell is a decent consolation prize but be honest out of all the top edge rushers who showed the least this weekend? I been saying Gary was superior to Ferrell since the season ended.

You stat watching(oh Ferrell had blah blah blah sacks) vs the sec guys swear up and down he was trash and went as far say He was way better than Gary. I knew Gary was a better athlete and after that I was asked who I would like and I said Sweat.  College production isn’t the only statistic to go by when judging prospects.

It’s easy to rack up 17 sacks or so when Wilkins who is going in the first round and Lawrence another freak who is 340 running a 5.0 is destroying the inside. Add in a offense that is blowing out teams and all this guy had to do was pin his ears back and rush the passer. I want a stud at end for the panthers. Ferrell is just a guy.

And here we go again. WTF is saying anything bad about Gary? I assume he will be gone. Not Ferrell. Or Wilkins. So what is your issue. Go find some place where they will argue with you about Gary. I ain’t the one.

I still want to hear the DE we should take over Wilkins because of “need”. You started all this to complain about Gary. As you proved again. Get a life.

You brought up Gary dude lol. That was the last thing u said in your post and I responded in turn. This thread was about sweat who is also superior to Farrell. I gave you my answer I said trade up because Farrell is not the answer. You see his production and think he’s good but production can lie. He’s not an elite talent.

Athleticism and being the best high school recruit can also clout judgement and does not always translate well when there is no production to back it. Steve PFF doesn’t like Gary either.

You mean brought him up in a GROUP of 5 players(not ranked) just saying they would all be picked. Who’s the DE we HAVE to draft? That’s what you jumped in here for and have spent the rest of the thread arguing with air about you Luvee.

How many picks should we give up for Gary? 1,2 and both 3s?
