Sweat just ran out of our reach 4.42 defensive end.

Try what? Are we not supposed to ever draft a DT again? Even though none played well, and only one will be here next year. Maybe. At 18M.

Our problem is that we keep NTs in on passing downs. Don’t get any pressure from them on any downs. Wilkins can play either DT or SDE. So other than a bust who has nothing to do with this, what’s the issue?

Lol contrary to his size Butler was not a nose and was more like short than star. He was a pass rusher. I’m saying how many times are we gonna keep spinning our tires in place at tackle and complain about our 38 year old defensive ends and lack of outside pass rush.

This is the draft to do to address that in. Defensive tackle can wait.

So Bosa, Allen, Gary, Ferrell, Sweat are gone. What DE are you taking? Since we have to take DE and nothing else. Who you got? Should we just pick any DE no matter who and how good they are? Nice plan.

And who said Butler was a NT?

I dont like Ferrell really at all. He seems like he’s decent but in a class full of freaks at end he’s the step child that teams seem to favor less so why is that what we should strive for? He will be there.

I honestly don’t think the answer is sitting back and waiting and I know it’s not a popular opinion here because the huddle is extra conservative but, I think we should follow the saints blueprint and trade up for the guy we love.

Last year's draft was deep at CB, we found a good one in the second round

I'm not worried about one DE rising on draft boards bc they had a good workout in a draft supposedly deep for D lineman

Fixating on a single player will lead to disappointment and if you consider yourself a draft guru you should know this

Sure. Trade next years first, in a year where Cam could go down at anytime, and leave us with a top 5 pick. Or trade any of our 2-3s we have this year? Because we don’t have enough holes to fill.

You can’t come up with anyone else to pick at DE and go as far talk down ferrell. But your problem is I would be happy with a top 10 caliber player with all other choices off the board.  Sure. That makes sense.

Just say what you mean. You want the Panthers to do anything possible or impossible to get a hold of Gary.

Never liked Ferrell. He didn’t look twitchy enough in college to be a double digit sack edge in NFL. He also benefited from playing on a stacked unit.

Christian Wilkins is the best linemen from Clemson in this draft. Reminds me of Fletcher Cox. Put him in the rotation at DT/DE and I’d be happier about that than Ferrell.

Sweat looks like he’s going top 10 now.

No he is not that good.. I believe he is overrated and a product of the other 2-3 freaks he’s played with...

All of Sweat’s sacks in 17 and 18 came against the bottom teams in the SEC. He has zero sacks in two years against Alabama, Georgia, and Florida and 1 sack against LSU.

He beat up on bad teams and looks like a work out warrior. Ferrell had better production against NFL talent at the collegiate level.

Oh yeah, he’s also pretty bad against the run, something that Ferrell excels at.

He may turn out to be a great 3-4 olb, but I just don’t see him being a better all around 4-3 end than Ferrell.

But but atleast we beat the Saints in week 17 LOL I swear some fans on here don’t know crap. We could have had sweat with a top 10 pick by losing that game but a lot of these huddlers are emotional fools. “No! I dnt care about the draft and that we fall 6 picks down. I want to win even though it won’t push us into the playoffs and even though it won’t stop saints from making the playoffs.”

Some emotional numbnuts on here (explains why they cry over aging veterans not being resigned) smh

Curious how Metcalf gets the workout warrior label but not Sweat, who has no pass rush moves outside of the bullrush

Good lord, do you even watch his film. Ignorant comment. If you like someone better, that's fine but he made a living running down qb
