Antonio Brown: If New Team Won't Play by My Rules...I Don't Even Have to Play

I don't see why the Raiders are interested in a 31 year old AB when they are rebuilding. I think OBJ would make way more sense given he is younger.

Pretty good point.

Also brings to mind that as big a problem & whackjob as Beckham is....

....Brown is worse.

How is Brown worst? This is his first time causing trouble off the field. OBJ has been like this ever since he entered the NFL.

Dude why u taking up for Brown so much, we ain't getting him. I really think if he gets traded somewhere by Steelers he is just going to quit football anyway. He doesn't care, and I hope they just trade him to like Bills or some sorry ass team just to prove to him he isn't poo.

Have you forgotten about the locker-room video posted 2 years ago?  The team, and teammates, have been protecting Brown for a long time....you're just seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Beckham stuck with the Giants.....if he was worse than Brown they would have jettisoned him.

Brown is unstable off the field, and in the locker-room.  The off field just happened to be more visible because of social media.....

You have to weigh the pros vs cons when talking about someone like Brown.

Yes, he’s a dynamic player and would instantly put our offense(with a healthy Cam) in the top 5-8.

What will he do to the locker room the first time he wets his pants over Cam not being accurate enough or he’s not getting enough touches

Sorry for me wanting the best WR in football. He produces on the field, why wouldn't I want a player like that on my team?

Also he is Cam's buddy, how is this being overlooked. Yeah it likely wont happen, but you can't tell me Cam doesn't want him on this team.

Steelers are a first class no nonsense organization. If Brown was a problem in the past he would have been gone. This just became a issue last year.

Actually it will never happen. This team does not need a nutcase player that will begin to complain once a ball is not thrown his way. This was said from his own mouth "Things will go my way if I am signed" which we do not need this negative baggage disrupting team. Cap monies are needed for more much needed things for both O and D line holes to be filled.

Two reasons.  The first is they are the Raiders.  They have not been run well, except for Chuckie's first stint, since Al Davis started losing his mind and thinking it was still 1975 back in the early 1990s sometime.

The second is they are going to need to do something to show their new market/fan base they are not the Keystone Kops.  And as the saying goes, if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS.  I expect them to bring in one or more big names because they need to generate some excitement, they have the cap space, and getting on the winning track from where they are is harder and takes longer than throwing some money in an exciting direction.

Given that, the only reason I see them not being interested is timing.  The moving vans show up next offseason, not this one.  But, I see articles that they are marketing  to the LA area, guessing that a third of their season ticket holders will be from that area once they move to Vegas.  That would mean the timing is less of a consideration, so they can throw idle cap space in 14 different directions now in the name of marketing.

Then again, we are dealing with a team that still does not know where it will play its 2019 home games.  Not only what stadium, but what city and even what region.  They could do anything.

Total #FakeNews on your part....you just made it up, LOL.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These quotes from over 2 years ago (Jan 20, 2017 to be specific):

"As for Brown, his continued presence with the Steelers speaks to the conundrum of coaches held hostage by talent. The more talent, the more tolerance, although Tomlin warned Brown this week that he was approaching a point of diminishing returns.

“He’s got to grow from this, he has to,” Tomlin told reporters. Tomlin acknowledged Brown’s work ethic, but said that Brown’s antics compromise his effectiveness.

You wear on your teammates when they routinely have to answer questions about things that aren’t preparation- or football-related,” Tomlin said, adding that players who become headaches frequently become journeymen.

I think that’s why oftentimes you see great players move around from team to team. And I definitely don’t want that to be his story. I am sure he doesn’t want that to be his story.”"

Guess what, as foreshadowed 2 years ago....it's his story.

Focus here, you have to understand that if Tomlin was making comments of that nature over 2 years ago, undeniably it means there were years of behavioural problems which preceded and lead directly to said comments --- minimum of 4-years he has been a problem --- he's now toxic.
