Some notes from my source involving the NFL draft

I ran a ton of 2 round mocks and burns or Ferrell were there all but maybe once or twice. I trully think if burns and ferrel are taken then Gary or sweat will fall . I also found that savage was always there in the second with guys like nasir and chauncey going within 5 to 10 picks of us...i would be ecstatic if we landed any of the 4 edge guys (sweat and burns being my favorites) and traded up a few spots to land Nasir or Chauncey if Nas doesn't fall far enough.

From SB Nation:

Enter Andre Dillard, the former Washington State Cougars standout, who is an ideal fit for the Panthers with his technically sound pass-blocking ability. Dillard is one of the top pass protectors in this year’s draft class, and while his run blocking needs some work, the Panthers can scheme around that while he learns on the job.

The Panthers also need to address their lack of edge rushers, but with most of the top prospects at defensive end off the board, they will take the best offensive tackle remaining to protect their franchise quarterback.

Analysis: This pick brings up a positional value discussion. Which has more value for the Carolina Panthers: a tackle like Dillard or an end like Rashan Gary of Michigan? Gary, for me at least, has a higher grade. But Dillard, arguably, has great positional value in protecting quarterback Cam Newton. It may also be easier to find an edge player in later rounds than a true left tackle.

One game is MEANINGLESS!  Get a life.

It wasn't just a game. He looked like smoldering hot trash all week long against the best senior talent in college football.

Bush isn’t one of the consensus top 16, no chance. We shouldn’t have to take a TE at 16. I can’t imagine a scenario where it’s Ford or Hockenson. In the 20s, sure but not at 16.

I disagree, Bush has the blessing of being in the worst class while being in the top two ranked. That alone will push his value up, plus have you seen the guy making plays? He creates havoc on offenses, it was a joy watching him. He reminds me of a young luke- high IQ, insanely fast/quick, and never leaves the field.

I'd rather trade down than draft Dillard or just sit tight and take Christian Wilkins.

I can't shake just how damn awful Dillard looked during Senior Bowl week.

You mean like this

Where he had to play in a non gimmick offense that helped him.  And played vs actual competition like the weak competition he faced

Kid has tools but going to be a big project who will really struggle early.  We need guys to make a impact Now

I wish everyone that wants him would watch this. We need a starter from round 1,2, and 3 for this team to compete. No projects, if that's the case we are in for another long damn season.

They go with they pff which can be misleading

And see the number of "pass protection snaps" and run with that wothout looking deeper noticing that all he does is pass block so that number is high.

God forbid a 6'5 235 pound QB goes and plays there throwing 60 times a game.  Some of these people will freak just looking at size and numbers.  Not film, and film as in live pads on film.  Not shorts and combine drills that got people drooling.

Im like the guys at draftnetwork who gave him a 2nd round grade.  Reminds me of the Spriggs kid from Indiana who Greenbay drafted in the 2nd to the T

I know nobody wants Dillard.  And everyone is talking about bust rate at Tackle.  Do we also realize that there is a 50% bust rate at DE also?

I really want DE in round one.  But I really think they will all be gone.  My pick for round one if all the DE’s are gone is Cody Ford.  I think he is the safest pick simply because if he fails at Tackle we have an all pro guard.

But in reality I am preparing myself for Dillard to be the pick.  And I will keep my fingers crossed.

I'd take Ford or Risner over Dillard or Little. All day long.
