What were some of the key things that he has shared with you so far that you feel have had the greatest impact on your scouting abilities?

Not buying into raw college stats without comparing to situational stats and surrounding talent.

thanks Verge.  can you ask if he thinks Brian Burns would be a good fit for us?

He sees Burns as kind of a tweener, similar in mold to a Randy Gregory, idk about his fit with us, it doesn't really seem like a good fit to me anyway.

What are his thoughts on the pass rushers and DL?

OL class?

DBs?

Mid-late round WRs and RBs?

Deepest dline class in a long time

Olineman is filled with second tier guys, no one you would pound the table for or really a generational type guy. First round grades on four of them.

DB class is weaker than most, Greedy is over hyped a little bit, and people are kind of underplaying the safeties.

Elijah Holyfield and Terry Godwin jump to mind

And QBs

A big one to keep in mind past round three is Tyree Jackson.

My timing might be off a bit but did anyone else notice how he said in the OP that Kyler Murray is now being thought of as the hands-down #1 overall and then a couple hours later it seemed like the mainstream media started reporting it.

I can give you some screen shots from a few weeks back that I shared in my football group chat stating the same thing. I think the combine weigh in kind of cemented it for him, but he was always the number one guy. People will start moving Daniel Jones up their board here soon too.

Ty! Anything in regards to what to look out for when scouting small school guys? I've been keeping my eye on Max Scharping out of Northern Illinois and felt that he could be great value with our compensatory 3rd or 4th round pick. Problem was that he wasnt exactly going up against anybody elite, except for Brian Burns out of Florida St who just said the other day that Scharping and Jawaan Taylor were his toughest challenges. So now I'm even more intrigued than I already was. Is it best to just look at his games vs FSU & Iowa since they had the only draftable edge guys?

Hey @Verge, one of my favorites is Nate Davis from Charlotte. Granted I’m a bit biased since that’s my alma mater but I’d love to get him in the late 3rd or 4th. Does your source have any thoughts on him? Thanks!

He looked really good in the drills at the combine yesterday. Really powerful smooth lower body.

Curious to hear what he tells you post combine

Ive said all along as well the dude was a twig, he was playing at about 235 at FSU.  And after watching Haynes last year.

He came into the combine at 250 though which is a game changer.  Gregory was 235 at the combine.  Also thought people still were buying the hype of Gregory.  Just the off the field issues, teams saw what he is now coming.

So

Again I have no sources of anything.

Just more of reading tea leaves and watch.  Teams do this all the time

Kingsbury is leaking out "sources" that he's going to draft Murray to gather trade value.

Cardinals have a Ton of holes to fix, they have a young QB who was just drafted out of there.  And Murray is the golden goose for them to trade out of the #1 spot.

Gruden was on record at the Senior bowl that he really like Murray.  Raiders leaks this past week have ssid they will be making moves draft day.

Cardinals leak they will be taking Murray #1 yesterday

Now this today

My Prediction

Raiders move up to the 1 spot for Murray.  Cardinals gather extra picks

Hey guys, it's that time of the year again, and my guy has been giving me some info about this years draft class. For those who don't know, my friend works within a scouting department of an NFL team, not the Carolina Panthers, and he has been kind enough to kind of help me learn to scout, write scouting reports, and leak me some info as far as what the general public might be missing in the NFL draft.

-Kyler Murray is believed to be the #1 pick in this draft, regardless of if the Cardinals keep or trade the pick
-Expectations are three QBs within the top 12 picks

-Daniel Jones should be the second quarterback taken within the top 10
-Expect Andre Dillard and Jonah Williams to volley for the #1 offensive lineman off the board
-He does not believe a corner will be taken in the top 10

Prospects he thinks will be potential first round picks that not enough people are talking about:
Jaylon Ferguson, DE, LOUT
Zach Allen, DE, BC
Amani Oruwariye, CB, PENN
N'Keal Harry, WR, ARST
Nasir Adderly, S, DEL
Riley Ridley, WR, GEO
Parris Campbell, WR, OHST

Obviously, not all of them will go in the first as this is kind of a numbers game in a straight up "loaded" draft, but he feels as though these guys would be a first rounder in most drafts.
Any questions you have, feel free to drop them here, and I will float them in his direction.

this much offensive talent being taken is GREAT news for the Panthers. A blue chip edge might actually be available at 16

definitely could see this happening, I've thought for a good while Gruden was going to get rid of Carr as soon as he could
