Some notes from my source involving the NFL draft

Who says he doesn't need to bulk up? I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of 4-3 teams don't see him as a 4-3 DT. I just don't think he's going to give you any juice off the edge as a 4-3 DE.

I can't remember the OT(either Taylor or Clemson OT) was asked who was the most difficult to block, they said speed-size Burns and strength-wise Allen. He just had the terrible luck of being in this DE/edge class. I'm a fan starting in the 2nd, I'm a sucker for a player that takes pride in hard work and playing to whistles echo.

I’ll be honest with you. I enjoy your source and details you get, but if he’s got a 1st round grade on Zach Allen then he didn’t watch the Senior Bowl (which by my count had 9 OL who will be day 1 or 2 picks). You couldn’t have had a better setting to see DL against NFL caliber OL and Allen sucked. He’s a 3-4 DE, just doesn’t have the pass rush to be a 4-3 DE. I'd easily rather have Omenihu or Saunders as guys who are more interior DL than edge.

I’d also much rather have Burns who I think your source didn’t have a 1st round grade on. You never know who might bust, but I’d take Burn every day of the week over Allen and it’s not close.

He didn't say Burns doesn't have a first round grade, just that all this top 10 talk for a guy who is essentially a third down specialist is kind of silly. I believe he is actually higher on Burns than Allen, but that again stems from rushing the passer being more valuable than a gap filler.

Simple question. Did you watch the Senior Bowl or practices? This isn’t a hypothetical question, it’s about Zach Allen. If you didn’t watch that game, no problem, but he stunk. He got 0 pressure and I mean 0 pressure the entire time. I don’t recall a single flash and that was against NFL caliber OL. I checked the rosters and I could easily see 9 OL from the Senior Bowl as day 1 and day 2 picks so a great sampling of what he’d see in the NFL.

There is no way I’d put a first round grade on Allen after watching his best showcase against NFL talent. I don’t care what he did against even Clemson because Mitch Hyatt is an NFL backup of lucky.

it wouldn't matter whether I watched it or not because I'm not talking about a particular player.

I'm talking about the fact that teams can have very different opinions on players in general. One team might see a guy as a second or third round talent while another team considers him a fifth or sixth round talent.

So for me, it is a hypothetical question.

That’s dedication right there

I would rather pass gas,.. ha

i take it he’s never passed a kidney stone.

Zach Allen would be a great 2nd round pick.

First pick I’m good with Sweat, Burns I’m worried is going to be an Everette Brown. Hopefully if we pick him I’m wrong.  Gary and Sweat would be my choices.

If Sweat Gary and company don’t make it, then that means Jonah or Taylor might. If Jonah and Taylor are both gone, then maybe Gary or Sweat make it to us.

The latest CBS mock https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/three-round-2019-nfl-mock-draft-four-qbs-go-in-top-15-but-broncos-wait-until-round-3-steelers-target-offense/amp/

would be my nightmare skipping on Cody Ford and Jonah Williams and Gary for Clelin Ferrell,..

and as many here will cringe,.. check it out, Burns getting drafted much higher than Sweat.

I would live with Ferrell, not as down on him as many here,..but in this case I would rather have Gary if DE/OLB or Ford/Jonah for OT/OG. All three I believe are better prospects than Ferrell.

Before I forget, he brought up a couple of guys he loves and that thinks enough teams have identified as studs, in Darnell Savage out of Maryland and Lonnie Johnson Jr. out of Kentucky, could surprise a lot of people. Loooots of depth in the 2nd-3rd round for secondary help.

Max overhype peak season. The media experts out there throwing jargon around to keep it building. All I know is the the first pick had better be a damn stud and the 2nd and 2 3rds had better be contributors and not projects.

Could see Savage or Dillard in rd1 for us.

We better trade back if either one of those guys are the pick. No way they should be considered at 16. I really starting to wondering about the guy ur talking to if he is just full of BS.

Lonnie said our coaches told him they loved his tape.
