Some notes from my source involving the NFL draft

6'5 285 DE out if college. He'll automatically be ahead of all those DE's that need to bulk up but never do. I agree with the scout. I'd be surprised to see that guy slip past the 2nd.

There will be a run on DE's this draft before 16. Bet on it. Like I've said before, the same reasons you love Burns at 16 is the same reasons they'll love him at 14-15.

Who says he doesn't need to bulk up? I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of 4-3 teams don't see him as a 4-3 DT. I just don't think he's going to give you any juice off the edge as a 4-3 DE.

Z. Allen with NFL coaching AND big BC brother Keuchley?!?

That may be the steal at #16. I understand why a lot of people wouldn't but if you're going to play it safe and sit at 16, might be a guy to look into.

I wouldn't say that would be a safe pick at all at #16. I think he has a very high chance of disappointing if drafted that high.

DE is such a specialized position. You have to be special to have any advantage. Some guys are strong and fast. Some guys are stronger and heavier than that tackle and will just push him into the QB. The later may just be Z.Allens role in the NFL. Dude is already as big as Pep. He's an athlete. Give him to Washington and Luke. I think he'd be a good fit the more I think about it. The culture here would suit that guy. Blue collar.

Starting to warm up to that idea. Senior bowl. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

All that at 6'5" 281. That's not good. That's not a 1st rounder IMO, especially if you combine those numbers with the fact that he looked like trash during Senior Bowl week.

Here's Rashan Gary at 6'4" 277:

The best athlete at DE won't be there at 16 IMO, not even the guys people speak of.

I know they need a DE, the world knows they need a DE a guy that can play the run and push the pocket at 16 is a great value, at least he knows his role. A guy trying to figure out his moves against NFL competition is a toss up. I'm with the scout on that one. Teams know what Z. Allen is on day one in the NFL.

As I've said before, DT is fine with me. Marty will probably go BPA anyways, unless...

I like the kid but no way should he be drafted in the first round. He is a late second or 3 rd round guy.  I was really intrigued by him early.  But looked out of place a senior bowl.  He is a DE that can’t rush the passer other than a bull rush.  Did poorly in drills.  I like him. Just not in the first

I'm pretty sure that we're going to go OL in the first round.

DEs, at least the ones most here are drooling over, will likely be gone by then. There's a chance that one of the two best T's are there, so we'll go that route.

The only thing that I can think that would throw a wrench into this would be if an elite player like White or Oliver falls into our lap or if we trade down, which I put at a 50/50 chance right now.

There is a lot of solid value in the middle of this draft at numerous positions (specifically OL, DE, DT, and secondary) which happen to be areas of need for us. Accumulating an extra couple of picks in there will give us the ability to address multiple needs with solid talent without breaking the bank as much.

Right now, to me at least, I'd say the plan looks like it is going to be:
OL or trade down and snag OL or DE in the first,
DE or OL in the second,
two from OL, DE, RB, or DB in the third
one LB and OL/DL/DB depth from the 4th on...

There's a slim chance we roll the dice on another WR, but it is looking more and more to me like we might be staying away from that unless certain ones (Deebo, etc.) fall to certain spots.

If we're stuck without the option of Sweat or Burns at 16, I would rather trade back.  I dont see any if the OTs there becoming franchise LTs.

If

Sweat, Burns, Jonah Williams are off the board, im trying like heck to trade down
