FTFY.

You want to trade for a higher profile version of a player currently on our roster bubble? What does Ross provide that Byrd doesn’t?

Production: no

Speed: no

Size: no

Savings: Hell no

Hands: no

Health: no

Spell that out and what does it give you? PSSSHH...and there’s my reaction to this trade proposition.

I would easily take a 5th or later on this kid. Ross is the fastest man in the league. I believe health has been his biggest downfall. All these people being conservative with there late round pennies what exactly are we doing with our pick past this point anyway? Carter, mayo, Artis Payne? Way more upside with Ross. Count me in...

If he is healthy, Byrd is a valuable asset for us.  Solid return guy and decent backup receiver.  Just can't stay on the field.
Yeah, would much rather have Byrd than Ross.

Yeah, none of those guys cost what Ross will cost as a former first round draft pick. That is the major flaw in that argument, he isn't cheap. People bitched a LOT about Torrey Smith at $5 million but he had pretty similar production in terms of receptions and catches for about that price. Why would we want to go down that road again?

It isn't about the draft pick, it's about the money.

His contract is not that bad...less than Torrey’s deal next year

It is bad for a guy averaging 1.3 Rec/GM, 13.1 Yds/GM and a 35% catch rate. That is for his two year career of 16 games. 10 of which were starts. So, he has missed half the games, and has started even less.
