NFL Combine Thread

I like Wilkins running a slightly disappointing time with a mediocre split. I've seen enough from him to know I want him. He's my consolation prize backup plan if Sweat and Ferrell are gone.

However, I gotta say, it perked my interest yesterday when Ferrell said he hadn't met with the Panthers. Maybe we know all we need to know or maybe we're planning on just meeting with him in our backyard at his pro day, but it still perked my interest. Why? Because I think Ferrell is a pure 4-3 DE. I don't think he can stand up and play. There very well may be something to this 3-4 talk if we're not interested in Ferrell.

One guy I'm watching in today's drills - Oshane Ximines. He's a 2nd/3rd rounder right now, but if he tests well I think he might solidify himself in the 2nd round. He seems to be the type of player who can adjust to both the 4-3 and 3-4 schemes

He's a tweener.  I think he could be good for a 3-4 team.  Id say 3rd round, not to say thats a bad thing.  Just this edge rusher class and just draft class as a whole is solid

He worked Andre Dillard in a scrimmage at senior bowl coming off the edge.

From what I saw, pretty much everyone worked Dillard. Not sure why some Panthers fans still seem somewhst high on that guy. He's a project IMO.

He had a couple decent blocks.  But overall omce the contact drills came, yeah pretty much.

He had 1-2 nice blocks in vs Jelks from Oregon.

Dont get me wrong, dude has tools and has shown flashes.  But if I were a QB needing OL help, and they draft this guy in the top 20 for a immediate starter.  Id demand a trade on the spot.  He will be lucky to start at all next year.

He played in a offense in college that never had to run block.  Went Full on spread, so never really saw any complex rushes. Rarely ever able to see more than 4 rusher.  So he had his guy and his guy only and just sat down and passed blocked his guy.

Thats why in the scrimmages and game he couldn't do anything.

When the Senior bowl coaches put a TE over to help you 80% of the rest of the game.  Especially after being pushed into the QB om the very first play and couodve been bad if the QB just didnt get the ball out.  Thats not who you want starting as your LT next year in the NFL

A team who doesnt have a list of Major needs, who can sit hik and groom him, drafting him in the 2nd.  Thats his best scenario.  He is very much like the Indiana kid who Greenbay drafted in the 2nd who had a good senior bowl in the basic drills and turned heads at the combine in the gym shorts

For the DT group:

1. Quinnen Williams is going to be a beast

2. Man this Trysten HIll guy is so smooth. Was projected middle to late DT but he is athletic and has had a great combine.

3. Also I have liked what I have seen from Jerry Tillery and Khalen Saunders
